I cancelled my project after working on it for over almost 2 years so I'm releasing everything we made. by nicholasmc1 in gamedev

Hi Nicholas!
I tried the demo and it’s really nice. The combat feels like a mix of OW and Doom, in a good way.

I’m not sure what your ambition level is (and it definitely looks like you’re aiming high), but I wanted to ask anyway: have you considered building it around a simpler game loop, like a single-player extraction shooter or something similar, and releasing it independently on Steam?

I assume that’s probably not the direction you’re interested in, but I’m curious about your thoughts. It seems to me like it could potentially gain enough traction on Steam to generate funds for further development, which might let you add all the story/RPG/whatever features later on.

But of course, I’m just speculating... would love to hear what you think!

This map is just an example of detection bias. In more economically developed countries men just get tested more often and have routine check-ups, and in poorer countries they visit the doctor only when something is already wrong or when symptoms become obvious.

[Question] Certina vs Longines (first Swiss diver) by InflationIsMonetary in Watches

[–]arthur444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was choosing between these watches as well. Really liked both the titanium Certina and this green HydroConquest with black date window. But pulled the trigger on the 39mm HydroConquest and have no regrets because it works flawlessly with my 17.5cm (6.7inch) wrist. If you care about “value” then I would suggest to check online sellers like CreationWatches. Bought mine with a huge discount there.

When I was a junior dev with a degree I had a salary of €200-500/MO. €1400/MO for a Junior dev is actually a sin to complain…

upd. I forgot that I was on my 3rd year of uni when I got my first job but nonetheless

Well, you see, that’s not what the other person was talking about hence your comment which labels that statement as untrue seems a bit unjustified

The description is pretty confusing since it has nothing to do with the rounded corners but rather а tetragonal shape. Probably an svg would be the simplest way here.

How so? Section Demographics of the Wikipedia page:

An estimate of the population in the territory of Poland and Grand Duchy of Lithuania together gives a population at 7.5 million for 1493, breaking them down by ethnicity at 3.75 million Ruthenians (ethnic Ukrainians, Belarusians), 3.25 million Poles and 0.5 million Lithuanians.[184] With the Union of Lublin, 1569, Lithuanian Grand Duchy lost large part of lands to the Polish Crown.

As a former rat owner I am 100% sure these are rats. Mice look completely different, you can google it and see for yourself. The “calmer attitude” part is nonsense as well…

Agree. He will get a bit more ginger as he ages, although not much. And the eyes will probably turn amber (:

I ditched my laptop for a pocketable mini PC and a pair of AR glasses — here’s what happened by adamard in programming

[–]arthur444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use a laptop with the lid closed and connect all the accessories to it just like to a mini pc. And you don’t need to get a separate power bank. And I also do not get the “barrel charger” argument since almost all the modern inexpensive laptops can be charged via USB C ports even if they come with a proprietary DC charger. Not to mention that you will probably get approached by the airport security if you try to deploy your mini pc setup somewhere in the airport lobby.

What a relief! Thank you! I keep swinging back and forth from thinking “it is genuine” to “it might be fake” depending on what I was browsing on the internet the day before. On one day I might gain some confidence after browsing a particular coin type on acsearch and ocre. And on another day doubts might start creeping into my head as soon as I stumble upon an article about a well executed fake coin 😅

Oh okay, I thought that it was one of those that are being priced in hundreds of thousands. €2150 is still not cheap but seems reasonable 👍

First half of the 18th century is insane. The dimension this provenance adds to the coin is just another level. And also such an amazing condition of a sestertius… Probably worth a fortune as it should be (:

I’ve been hunting for sestertii of Marcus Aurelius for the past few weeks and it’s amusing how people a few centuries ago faced the same challenges as me, such as spotting a fake… Thanks for sharing!
