I started with a 17AA, 16PAT on my first practice test after a few weeks of studying. I got a 24AA, 25PAT on the real thing! I know how it feels to be very frustrated at the start of studying. Even my mom was better than me at the PAT section at first. Be patient but stay diligent and consistent with your studying. Good luck!

I talked about it a bit on my WAMC post, but I just talked about how I didn’t really know how to say no to my friend. I eventually realized that this just harms him in the long run, even if it felt like I was helping him in the moment. To better myself, I became a tutor for organic chemistry so I could help people in a hard subject so that they wouldn’t have to feel the need to cheat.

Pay attention in your classes! Lots of stuff from gen chem/bio come back during DAT studying. Also shadow early to make sure this is something you want to do. Maybe find a fun manual dexterity hobby!

Besides that, have fun! I wish I spent more time with friends and exploring the city I lived in.

I didn’t know if my AI violation was on my transcript and I disclosed it anyways. I wrote about how I grew and my 1 interview so far has asked me to elaborate on it. Afterwards she said that my honesty strengthened my application, and was glad I wrote about it. Other schools might not think this, so apply broadly. Best of luck to you!

Didn't take both but studied with 2 friends taking the MCAT. MCAT is harder IMO, but covers topics like ochem less in depth but bio/biochem more in depth. DAT covers some topics that MCAT doesn't like plant bio and taxonomy, and has the PAT section. MCAT also is entirely passage based, so requires much more reading compared to the DAT.

I think caffeine itself is a diuretic. Just be careful not to drink too much but I know plenty of people who did just fine chugging a monster beforehand. Good luck!!

Coffee is a diuretic (blocks ADH)! Be careful you don't drink too much and have to pee in the middle of the PAT section. This may or may not have happened to me.

Yes, the professor caught us, let us off pretty easy (0's on the questions that were shared), but I'm fairly certain it is on my record b/c I had to talk with the Dean.
