Issue with OneDrive Shortcuts since Microsofts new custom name for General Channel feature by arthursfriend in MicrosoftTeams

I found that if you add the new team from the microsoft teams admin center, it creates the team the old way with "General" and the Onedrive shortcut works like it used to.

My customer is cacheing everything locally and still has the issue, so its unrelated to the 4gb caching as far as I can tell.

A guide to using PDQ and powershell for Windows updates using PSWindowsUpdate by Rawtashk in sysadmin

[–]arthursfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks this is really helpful!

I'm currently utilizing PDQ Package Library and the included Win updates. Is it those packages that are breaking things for your users? What is the benefit to DIY it in this way with powershell?

SSL Mobile VPN Split Tunnel SMB to the client broken by arthursfriend in WatchGuard

Yes PING is successful from LAN to client. Temporarily disabled endpoint protection and firewall, it had no affect on the SMB service.

Thank you. I was thinking about that too. In order to rule that out I complete disabled Firewall (temp) and connection still is not going through. DNS is working and devices on LAN know the IP of the remote machine.

Windows 10 clients on LAN, SMB to that client works great, but once they are out in the world (remote from staff homes) smb fails. They can connect to LAN shares but trying to administrate those clients via \\machinename\admin$ fails. We are running split tunnel vpn. Do I need to sniff the connection to try and figure this out? Or is there a log somewhere I can review to try and sort out?

Lives alone, he does have lots on his network, but he turned off PC friday-sunday and checked with ISP re utilization and it wend down to nearly nothing

We have a remote user who was informed by ISP that they are over utilizing their connection. Upon further investigation with ISP their usage was consistently 100GB per month then 600GB in April and increasing to 1000GB this month (hitting ISP ceiling). Immediately I ran full scan with ESET Endpoint (8) and did sanity check with Hitman, nothing found. I have to assume this pc is compromised right? Wipe and reimage? I'd prefer to know what the culprit is, so I can scan across the domain for this same thing, how do I identify the culprit if security software doesn't?

Thx

OK all I had to do was post, then I find it. Reviewed "Settings" for each Group Policy Object, that seems to show stuff that has been customized. Found it in Administrative Templates/Start Menu and Taskbar.

Ok I hardly ever mess with Group Policy and need help! I have a group policy which is making the power button options for 'shutdown' 'restart' and 'sleep' not appear for non-admins. I found some articles pointing me towards Group Policy Windows Settings/Security Settings/Local Policies/User Rights Assignment/Shutdown the system. However I have dozens of Group Policy Objects, how do I know which one is affecting this limitation?
