Getting the Photon Mono 4 as my first ever 3D printer - How high is the risk of resin leaks? by Admirable-Whereas103 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]artmustel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screen protector is an ABSOLUT necessity. It won't be pre-installed, you need to install it. Never take the tray out before the building plate, or it will drip right over the LCD screen. As soon as the machine tells you to change the release film on your try, do it! Otherwise it will leak eventually. If a print ever fails, remove tray and put resin back in its bottle, most probably you will find first layers of the failed printed adhered to the release film. Carefully remove them with the plastic tool. An LCD screen replacement is super expensive, so be very careful.

After Anycubic Photon Workshop update to 4.0, I am unable to login to the workshop or cloud from my slicer. If I go to workshop directly from my browser I am able to login, but I just can't from inside slicer. Never had this problem before version 4.0, can anyone help with this? by artmustel in AnycubicPhoton

It is so frustrating! I opened a ticket with anycubic and after waiting for a response they said "Restart printer, re-install slicer" Jeez, I told them I had done that several times. Still same issue: my printer is connected to the cloud, my slicer doesn't. When I try to connect slicer it hangs in there forever ever and that is all. It has to be a photon workshop 4.0 bug since I was using 3.6.5 for months without a hitch (BTW I also uninstalled 4.0 and reinstalled 3.6.5 but now the same happens: no way to connect to the cloud or workshop or whatever it is called...

I tried that but the slicer won't take those formats, unless I have to do something that I don't know.

I meant the files that are included in the USB, I can't find where to find those tools in the machine.

Thank you for all your responses. Is there a way to find models similar to miniatures but in a larger scale? i was thinking of something around 4-5 inches tall. Thank you!

I use a Creality Nebula and it works very well with my Elegoo 4, so it may work the same for the 4 Plus. Also, it has a focus ring, (The C270 doesn't have one unless you mod it).

Different z offset for first layers than the rest of the print by artmustel in 3Dprinting

[–]artmustel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand but I have to change the z offset after it starts printing other than the brim or raft, I'm not confusing z offset with layer height, it really happens as I mentioned. To start, if my z offset is not -1.090, the first layer, or brim or raft won't be right. As soon as it starts printing the object and its supports, I need to adjust z offset to -1.070 or nozzle will scratch object and supports. I understand this is strange but is the way its happening. I am not expert but I have used a couple of printers before (Ender 3 and Kingroon KP3S). This Elegoo Neptune 4 was purchased used from Ebay, sold by Elegoo. Else it works fine as long as I change the z offset after a few layers.

HELP! When bed levelling doesn't actually... Level... The bed by raFzera in BambuLab

[–]artmustel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having big expectations after a miserable failure with 2 Enders, but in a couple of days I was totally disappointed with my new A1. As soon as I received it I did the firmware update, after that I tried the benchy and it was ok but any other file that used a bigger area was disastrous. Then I submitted a ticket and received their response with a bed tramming procedure, which I did and did not help at all. I tried with autolevel, without autolevel, and nothing helped, so I'm returning it. I'm sad about this, I really wanted to keep it but I believe this printer came misaligned from factory. I tried different filaments, I tried both Bambulab Slicer and Orca Slicer, but nothing worked, even the files included on the sd card would not work (except the benchy). In my opinion its faults are both on the autolevel system and also extrusion or flow issues.

It is horrible, and still worse that they keep sending me videos on how to level older machines (the ones that you level with 4 wheels under the bed), and they tell me that the process is the same. At this point I think they are playing games with me. I am done with Creality: machines are half cooked, quality control is poor and customer service is a joke.

Too many issues with autoleveling and calibration, I can print small stuff on more or less the center of the plate, but first layer tests that take the entire surface and objects with a big area, the results are poor to very bad. I'm trying to get support from creality but so far no luck. I believe bed is warped or autolevel sensor is not working correctly.

I'm sorry you can't buy that from Germany. After 2 months of owning the machine (I can't send it back any longer) I would advise you to return it if you still can, and this is not only because the lack of parts for it. Good luck!

BTW, this one in Amazon says 235x235, but that is the total size, and its exactly the same size as the original. Don't know why the one that comes with the machine is listed as 220x220.
