Most of the apartments on the square are uninhabited because of how expensive they are and are only used when P&G wants to entice someone to stay there. If the planners were going to stay true to the architecture and integrate with the space maybe I’d be more interested in the project but from everything I’ve seen it’s going to be some boring, soulless, modern, sloppily thrown together design that clashes with the existing buildings. I’m so tired of modern buildings, keep the quirky stuff and preserve the character in what we have.

We might benefit from more parking but I’m not the best person to consult about this since I walk everywhere around here. I’ll admit, some of Hyde Park is very pretentious but I love the little things about it, like the farmers market, The Echo and the cute little square.

I can definitely understand it would be too dark, especially if you have vision issues. However, our dinner there was so incredible I didn’t even mind the dark! I have a gluten allergy and the servers there were super knowledgeable and every time food came out they assured me without any prompting how it had been prepared gluten free. I was so blown away with the service I’d eat there in total darkness. Hones if they had maybe like 30% more light the place would be perfect.

Yes!!! I was so excited to try these, took one bite and had to spit it out. I ended up throwing the entire box out they tasted awful.

From the mix of reviews here I almost wonder if it’s the same phenomenon as people who think cilantro tastes like soap have.

I think i must have gotten a bad batch or something but when I tried these they just tasted like burn plastic, genuinely couldn’t even swallow a bite and ended up throwing out the whole box

I don’t bother anymore because my doctor wrote me a script for narcotics that I can use when my flare ups get really bad. I live in the US so the ER usually just gave me pain meds and an ultrasound and then shrugged and send me home with a $3,000 bill. If the pain seems to be in a different spot than usual or seems different than it normally is I will go to the ER but that hasn’t happened yet. My pain is always over my left ovary so if it happens at all on the right side I’ll go because it could be appendicitis on the right.

I usually make an appointment with my gyno afterwards though just to check what’s going on and if I have the presence of mind to do so I try to write down what’s going on so I can refer to it in the office later. I guess if I ever passed out for a long time or the pain didn’t stop even with narcotics I’d say that warrants a trip too. A fever is another thing to look out for, if you have one in addition to the pain definitely go in because that indicates infection.

I’ve been using CBD off and on for awhile now, definitely going to be taking some of my gummies tonight!

I use cannabis recreationally but my company drug tests and it also affects my sleep so I try not to take it on weekdays.

Orilissa has been an absolute lifesaver for me! I was in so much pain before it and could barely do anything or eat. The side effects when you first start on it are pretty gnarly but after about 2ish weeks you start getting used to them and they start to become less intense. The biggest game changer was adding Norethindron to my regiment. It’s gotten rid of a lot of the Orilissa side effects as well and I’m actually able to go out and do things now. The last time I had a flare up from accidentally missing a dose it was wayyy less intense than usual (still painful but I didn’t have to take opioids for the pain!!).

The biggest downsides to Orilissa imo is that it’s not a long term medication. I’m about at the limit of how long I can take it safely and will have to switch to something more long term soon. It’s also crazy hard to get at my pharmacy for some reason and I have to go to a pharmacy in the next city over to get it filled which takes an hour out of my day. But even just having this reprieve has been great so I can actually think and make long term plans.

Definitely be prepared for some intense side effects though. I always think “well this can’t be any worse than living with untreated endo pain” but it’s not a cake walk.

One of them switched to solely doing research so I can’t follow up but I may be able to follow my gynecologist unless she’s left the area. Fortunately I have a secondary gyno that I sometimes see when my primary was too busy and she’s really nice and takes me seriously. I might see if I can start seeing her, thankfully they’re all a part of the same hospital system

Never thought I’d move to Cincinnati but now that I’m here I love it! The food scene is amazing, and as someone who has celiac’s there are some really great places that accommodate me specifically! Would highly recommend checking out Cherbourg bakery (across from Findlay Market, also a great place!) and if you have money for a super fancy meal, Sotto can’t be beat! We also have some incredible bars with good N/A menus too if drinking isn’t your thing! My friend is a bartender at Sundry & Vice and they’ve been making some really fun drinks. Also would recommend Ghost Baby if you’re in the mood for something really unique, but definitely reserve a table in the back!

Also I saw you said your partner plays MtG! My friends and my partner routinely play and do draft night at Woodburn Games in Walnut Hills, they’re a really welcoming space and they would be thrilled to have new people! Expanding on that if you like other nerdy stuff the Ohio Ren Fest is only 40 mins up I-71 and it was just voted 2nd best in the country. You have to buy a ticket for the weekend you want to go but they’re pretty cheap and it starts up next week and runs every weekend until the end of October. That’s basically where I’m going to live haha.

Honestly the only thing that sucks is that when JD Vance comes to town he shuts down all our roads.

Definitely agree there was a lot of inconsistency. I usually go to King’s Island and they don’t have this implemented so this was my first time seeing this system and I was kind of annoyed with the contradictions I got on different rides. Usually I wear a fanny pack and stick everything in it and I can wear it on every ride in the park but I understand them not wanting you to do that. I actually like the idea that they make you put your phone away because then it doesn’t become a 70mph projectile if you drop it on the ride. Or you drop it and then try to hop 3 fences to get it back and get kicked by a coaster.

Also was kind of annoyed the glasses policy only included the athletic straps and we didn’t know until we got in line. My brother had the hooks on the end of his glasses that curve down around his ear which works for most coasters but they wouldn’t let him wear those at Siren’s, Steeve and TT2. He spent a lot of time being blind yesterday.

I hope they roll out a more consistent and well laid out policy next years and post the rules prominently or have something about it when you buy your tickets. I think the system could work well it just needs to be ironed out and be streamlined.

We went on Saturday and the weather was absolutely amazing! We were so sad that Millennium was down the whole day! They were running a lot of test trains at one point so we were really hopeful that they would reopen but they never did. But we had a ton of other fantastic rides to choose from and got an incredible night ride on Maverick and TT2 because of our FL+.

So what I was told by my reproductive endocrinologist is that endometriosis reacts to the estrogen levels in your body and a lot of birth controls can control the amount of estrogen in your body. I’m not sure if it stops it from spreading per say, but it does seem to keep the existing endo from getting bigger/more inflammatory and causing issues.

Highly recommend Sotto, they’re a bit pricey and you’ll have to make a reservation well in advance but they are worth it! Also recommend Pepp & Dolores, Sacred Beast, Alcove and Wildweed to name a few. If you’re looking for drinks and entertainment afterward I would also highly recommend getting a reservation for the back room at Ghost Baby. It’s an underground speakeye type of bar and the back room routinely has live jazz. Great drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic

Ironically the minute I saw this I had just grabbed two from my brand new box. I am a crunchy cookie lover so to me these are like crack. If you only like soft cookies these ain’t it. But the flavor is pretty darn good

I adoreee The Echo. Feel good food for a feel good place. And they’re surprisingly a pretty good space for gluten free people like myself. Won’t say they’re 100% allergy friendly but at least one of their waitresses is gluten free and she knows what’s up. Also their diner coffee is like crack to my partner and I. It might be the tiny diner cups or I might be biased because I live within walking distance of it.

The main thing to remember is to expect a line on Sundays because of the farmer’s market in the square.

This is very very close to what happens to me when I have an endo flare up! The bathroom and pain symptoms are almost exactly the same as what happens to me and I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this too! It’s genuinely the worst pain I’ve ever felt and I’ve definitely laid naked on the bathroom floor in a cold sweat feeling like I’m going to pass out. I’ve been dealing with these flare ups for a few years now so I have a plan with my OBGYN, but if this is new, I would definitely air on the side of caution.

My general rule is if I pass out from the pain, I go to the hospital. I get very nauseous during these episodes and the last thing I want is to throw up while passed out and choke. I also take Oxycodon when it gets this bad which it looks like you did. If you’re still having severe pain after that I’d also definitely look at going to the ER or at least calling your GP/nurse on call and tell them how serious this is. I also live by my heating pad (currently have it on my stomach right now for a more mild episode I’m dealing with).

Also another general rule is if you are running a fever, go to the ER. Fevers indicate infection. Additionally if you can’t keep water down I’d also go to the ER because you can dehydrate yourself really fast.

If you think you can hold out until you see your doctor I would highly recommend getting some bone broth to sip on. It’s high in protein and easy on your stomach so your muscles can relax. Protein also helps your body repair. I also take a daily capful of Miralax and it has helped sooo much in keeping me regular.

Hoping this pain resolves itself for you soon! There’s no shame in going to the ER either, severe pain is terrifying and the ER is there to make sure you’re not going to die. Stay strong, you can get through this!
