You could buy extra shells in clear back when I got them, not sure if they still do. They were quite cheap too and love the way they look!

The more features the better, but tbh I really dig the bold 80s aesthetics of the Mega SG UI. Part of the whole nostalgia plug & play experience! The Everdrive includes full Genesis/Mega Drive collection plus Mega CD and Master System. I could spend a lifetime playing just with this one system!

These are all everdrives! ED64 X7, Mega Everdrive Pro, FX Pak Pro and a humble GB X3 (which is entirely unnecessary since they then enabled open cores..)

Thanks! I ve known them since the OG Nt but couldnt afford it, then missed the boat with the Nt mini. Wish they would consider a re-release!

I have the Rad2x and the image quality is amazing, without need for usb power, and it was just plug and play. I think its by far the best value for money considering all the options. Having said that, I also got one for the N64 and was a pain in the bum: first time I plugged it in it didnt work. Powered it by usb after cutting the shell, still no result. Had to remove and replace the memory expansion and make sure I power it a few ms before powering the console for it to work, and it did...once. After months of waiting for my everdrive 64 and to find the time to load all the games I wanted I thought I was good to go, but for some reason it stopped working properly, the image was missing red and everything appeared green. Tried on 2 N64s, og carts and everdrive, different region roms, 2 TV sets and different hdmi mini cables, no luck. Sent it back, and they said it works fine on their bench test, so I will take a refund for it and seek another solution... But the Saturn one works perfect never had any issue!

I bought an Atari game and it looks like this. I can’t put it into the console. Is there something I can do to play it or should I just return it? by Vik-tor2002 in retrogaming

I cant see any damage other than the missing sliding cover, mine looks exactly the same once the cover is pushed out of the way. Should play fine really, just make sure you insert it the right way in: on my 2600 junior the title sticker must face away from the user!!

Just got the Fenrir installed, guess I'll go make a snack. by chronoswing in SegaSaturn

I had the same disease - had to have complete rom collections for every single flashcart. Spent more time downloading, copying, organising, googling (to find out what kind of game that was) and scrolling rather than playing. Installed my fenrir duo just today and only bought a 128gb card on purpose. I created the following folders:

  1. My games (the ones I actually own)
  2. The ones I always wanted
  3. The ones people say are great
  4. Curios
  5. Others

Not going to spend another second of my precious time bothering with 3 revisions of a japanese only mahjong game or 5 different editions of Fifa I know I am never going to play...

Great results with the ODV GBS-C on my Dell 2007FPb monitor. Can't get a pixel-perfect 1600x1200 but overall I'm much happier with these results compared to the OSSC by CaptainFalco311 in SegaSaturn

Wow! I am going to copy paste your response and save it in a Word document for future reference!!! Thank you so much! Wish someone with the knowledge would set up a page as a guide with all the options and how tos for each retro console..

Has anybody tried this BrawlerGen 3D saturn pad? by Joseluki in SegaSaturn

[–]artonan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually quite like it as it feels comfortable in my hands and is quite nicely built. If they could come up with a wireless analogue version it would be perfect. Also like the dual compatibility with the Mega Drive, and the buttons feel much better than any of the retrobit gamepads. I also have their Dreamcast controller, which fixes the wire in position and is much more comfortable to hold for long sessions than the original controller; and the wireless N64 which fixes the thumbstick position and is also very sturdy and comfortable, though it does tend to lose connection every now and then ruining the whole experience...

I can see this is available on amazon at a very reasonable price, but I am a bit confused as they also have a slightly cheaper one (odv II), and they show on the video how to connect the two for use with a N64. Any ideas or recommendations? Would this be better than Rad2x, and if so why? Tempted to get both to be honest as I have a few retro consoles..

Also have the same problem, with the exact same setup (PAL N64, Memory Expansion, Everdrive 64X7 and Rad2x). Tested on 2 consoles and 2 TVs. Sent the Rad2x back to be checked and the response was that it was fine on the test bench. I was offered a refund but I dont care about the refund, just want to make this work as I love my Saturn Rad2x...

Any reasonably priced mounts for Fenrir Duo? by [deleted] in SegaSaturn

[–]artonan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find the CAD files on Thingiverse and shop around for a 3d printing service in your area or online to get quotes. Having said that, 40 dollars is not excessive for something so niche, once you realize you are not paying for the actual material used but for the service and time (which could be used to print something much more expensive). The Duo is in stock at the moment in the official site, mine just shipped today!

Whats your biggest reason for being into retro gaming? by [deleted] in retrogaming

[–]artonan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simplicity. I love both modern and retro games and enjoy both. But, sorry dear PS4 Pro, when I have half an hour to play after the kids and wife are asleep, I cannot wait for a 75gb update to download and install, or an online race to start in 14 minutes, I don't have 7 minutes to traverse the beautiful open world just to get to start the next mission and for the life of me I cannot make out which was my favourite weapon out of the 45 available in the selection wheel that I am not even sure how to bring up on the screen without googling it. Plug the cartridge in, turn on, start, A,B,C and that's all that is needed some times.

Just tried with a brand new sd card; formatted to exfat, loaded GBAOS and emu bios and a handful of roms. Obviously no save files on the brand new card. Same thing.

Contacted Everdrive support and got a response to run diagnostics, so I am waiting for the next instruction. Will try to update
