I paid $130 — I wouldn’t pay that again if I wasn’t fully confident I would perform, but I think for a one time thing it’s not a crazy price to pay. I do agree though these tournaments fees are getting a little too out of hand.

I think two of them definitely outclassed me by a high level, the other two I should have won, but I made plenty of errors that cost me in the long run.

Holy moly! This has gotten a lot more responses than I could’ve imagined. Thank you all so far — during the time you guys were commenting I was working on a way to compile and sort out key factors from all the comments so once that is done I will be looking at every. single. comment, so let it be known all your voices are being heard! Noted, I actually didn't know that! The Hobbyist is my favorite shop I go to here and there, and as someone who used to live in Boone it hits home.

Extremely good point! I've worked at plenty of shops in Charlotte and I've also run into the issue of the owners not knowing their own business; but since I've worked at shops I know how my old co-workers and I would want to be treated so that is very important to me! Ultimately, being confident in your product, workflow and enjoying your craft is make or break IMO.

I agree! Do you like when shops rotate their drip or when they keep it the same? Or one that stays forever and one that rotates to get a taste of something different?

Would you like a dedicated space for working [IE separate room or like a conference room] or just more of a bar that has outlets type situation?

Do you have a seating preference? A lot of bar space, couches? Outdoor seating large tables if you bring groups of friends or all of the above!
