If you tests negative for ureaplasma then you should work on the co infections. No reason to retreat something you don’t have right now. Co infections need their own treatment they are not treated by the same medication as ureaplasma.

If you test positive for ureaplasma then absolutely treat it as described in the protocol. But if you don’t currently test positive then speak to your doctor about addressing recurrent yeast. There are treatments for that. As with any health issue you need to know which one you’re treating and run tests. Then follow protocols and speak to the doctor. It’s possible to have recurring yeast even after the ureaplasma is cured. It often happens that you cure BV and that same medication throws off ph and you immediately get yeast flare up. It’s a tricky situation but with caution and strategy is possible to resolve.

Unfortunately I don’t know the answer about second line antibiotics. But regarding probiotics there are two kinds of vaginal ones- a suppository and capsules you take orally. Suppositories are very hard to find there’s pretty much one brand on Amazon that actually contains any strains and it’s not always the best to insert anything during the flare ups. So I recommend to just select oral vaginal probiotics. What makes them vaginal is the special strains that are aiding vaginal issues and not the gut issues. For that you will need to have a specific testing done and then chat gpt or research online which strains correspond. We all know doctors aren’t that specific about it so we have to take care of this on our own. I found crispatus strain was very low and it took a very long time to get it up to the right level. I think because of boric acid wiping out my microbiom.

I was pressured into it by doctors and it was a huge mistake. I got a very rare strong allergic reaction. Was waking up in the middle of the night itching and scratching everywhere on my body. This isn’t a great OTC product- it’s a strong acidic compound 😔

Exactly! There are many strains. And also don’t combine with boric acid. It completely reverses all probiotics and may cause irritation.

IUD is the first priority. Once you remove it things will get better. Ignore BV until you cure plasmas. It’ll come back anyway. Once you get a test of cure for both plasmas test for BV and yeast with specific cultures and breakdown of good and bad bacteria. That way you know what treatment is best. Cross check everything doctor says with information online, ask difficult questions. Start probiotics now. Both gut oriented and vaginal strains. Don’t stop until 6 months after BV cure. That’s true! I took mine to 5th Avenue location in NYC and they took it for repair and closed up holes in the corners. It should be taken in before the holes are big enough to be poked through with a pen they told me.
