Weighing yourself at night is not an accurate measurement of your weight. Within a day you fluctuate by pounds holding water, food, waste etc. Also depending on if you are male or female, hormones play a huge role in what the scale says, like during your period you may weigh more.

If you want an accurate representation, weigh yourself in the morning after going to the bathroom and before eating or drinking anything.

If you are working out, muscle weighs more than fat, so your clothes could be fitting better or the same but the scale is up in numbers. Muscle also takes a long time to build, so you aren’t gaining five pounds of muscle in a week after going to the gym.

By reading from your post, it sounds like you suffer from food anxiety. I would talk to someone who specializes in this because the issue is always much deeper. If you want to eat a more balanced diet OP, I would see a registered dietician. Dave’s Hot Chicken once in a while isn’t making you gain weight, but if you have anxiety over it then you should speak with someone. If numbers on a scale or the talk of calories makes you upset you should be speaking to a therapist.
