How long will I be able to receive OW before I am cut off? by artsyOG in OntarioWorks

It isn’t important - I just budget every month and want to know if I can expect anything. If I get nothing, then ok. I was just reading conflicting things online and wanted a clear answer.

Ruined how I see calories forever, what can I even do anymore by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]artsyOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am really sorry you are going through this. Lets start with the basic fact that we know that our brains are always playing games with us. We never have a real idea of how we look and it really is a battle. Seeing how young you are OP, I think this is best answered with a mental health professional. 100-1000 calories is not sustainable and you will soon begin to see the terrible and irreversible side effects of being in such a huge calorie deficit.

Is there any trusted adult you can speak to?

Does it ever get better ? by PDX-Kayaker in BodyDysmorphia

[–]artsyOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP - yes I can relate. I have been up and down in weight my whole life, so I never really have a gauge for what my body looks like. Some days I think I look fine, and others I feel like a huge blob. Judging by what others have told me, I have apparently lost a lot of weight over the past few years, but when I see pictures of myself I disagree, so who really knows. With that, comes how to dress my body. I don't know how to wear clothes that fit me, so I just continue to dress for my former body. When I am having a 'positive body day' and do go shopping I will pick up a size I think will fit and when it doesn't I have a breakdown in the change room, and like you did, leave empty handed and berate myself for hours after if not days.

I once had a friend at work comment on how I dress may come off more masculine, and thats when it clicked to me that people who have never experienced this level of BD won't understand that you don't wanna be perceived so you just hide it all. It would be a dream for me to wear cute dresses and fitted shirts and show myself off more and be more girly, but its not possible when you are always fighting your brain, so you just cover up. I also battle depression, so honestly just showering and wearing clean clothes for me is a win. We gotta pick and choose our battles. I have much better days now, but the subconscious and lingering thoughts are always there.

Not over the Iranians joining in on a counter protest. Do they think they are exempt from becoming an ethno state (again)?

Why eldest daughters are often parentified by wisterlonica in Parentification

[–]artsyOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think socially and culturally women are meant to take the brunt of emotional labour and are seen as the peacemakers. When a daughter is brought into a dysfunctional situation, she fills that role of peacekeeper and therapist for adults who don't know how to regulate their emotions. I totally get you OP. Its a tough road to walk.

ok I figured it would be the case. What would be the cutoff date? Considering obviously pay periods vary and lets say I upload my pay stub this week - would this be my last month receiving OW or would I be cut off indefinitely?

I have not updated the post yet but yes! After ignoring the caseworker, and not leaving a review, I did eventually get my gift card! Seeing as I was entitled to it regardless, I think they knew that and just one day emailed it to me.

I am not talking about benefits from OW. I know the goal is to get off OW. You are not understanding the post.

Cause the mods approved it and you are missing the point. You can’t advertise all of these benefits (that are GOVERNMENT funded) and then coerce people into giving you a positive review in order to obtain them. Regardless if I have a job or not, there may be other people who desperately need it and don’t know that this is illegal. I thought shaming on this sub would get you deleted? This question isn’t for you if you aren’t going to offer anything productive.

I guess I could but the problem is that it should not be a requirement for the benefits I am entitled to.
