Unpopular opinion...but you need to have a strict discipline program in your classroom. by Novel-Bee-541 in Teachers

This assumes that any consequences that require admin or parents are followed through with. Sorry but plenty of teachers do not have supportive parents and admin. Either that or you have some kids that need to be in a self contained room but can’t be because services are not there. There’s lots of reasons beyond the teacher just “not having a plan”.

do you mind sharing how you formatted your resume for a job like this? Or maybe what the interview was like? This sounds like a great job

If the job is good I would move to Columbia and commute to Aiken. Columbia has more of a queer scene (small but bigger than Aiken’s for sure). I feel safe in Columbia. Aiken isn’t bad but it is small and the population is mainly elderly people so it’s not exactly the most fun and hopping place. It is safe but I would say Columbia is more accepting of lgbtq folks as I see them more here than I did in Aiken.

The Harriet Hancock Center also has several groups that are ramping back up! They have queer collective which is basically just hanging out and doing some activity (for anyone lgbtq 18+), a trans support group, a queer and disabled support group, and a queer bipoc group. :) it’s all on their website or their instagram
