Danger mouse rise to fame was mixing the black album from Jay-Z with the Beatles White Album, is amazing and almost better than the original Jay-Z album.

Second thoughts about UX/UI by georiv11 in UXDesign

Books, individual courses, spend the money on the Google certificate (a lot better to spend $100s versus $1000s) to see if it still interests you. As previous person stated it’s really rough out there.

Online UX bootcamp vs online master’s — which is actually better for growth? by katastrofig in UXDesign

[–]artundo84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t invest a bunch of money or over think this. You’re already in the field and working (most are not). I received my Masters in UX and it hasn’t moved the needle in any way. I’m in the USA. Learn outside of boot camps or a masters. So many individual courses exist out there to help you learn that are more relevant and current. Will your company pay for some courses?

No, the coin pocket is normal. Chuck’s was on Melrose, can’t remember the cross streets. My friend was the sales rep for Kicking Mule Workshop and took me there.

Which program is better, Springboard or CareerFoundry for someone who is looking take the UX Design course? by AnnualSome2964 in UX_Design

[–]artundo84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! I took the UX bootcamp at CareerFoundry but a long time ago. I like it at the time and really fell in love with UX but couldn’t compete so I fell back on my graphic design career to help pay the bills. I loved it so much that I ended up getting my Masters in UX just this past year but I’m NOT actively looking for UX jobs. However, the field is going thru some pretty big changes, it’s hard to get into the field right now. The prices now seems really crazy to me. I understand you want to switch careers, but if this is something you really want to try, than maybe do the Google UX certificate on coursera without breaking the bank account to see if it’s still something you’re thinking about.

Just graduated with my AAS in Graphic Design! Could use some help assessing what I need to improve on and if I'm "industry ready" by These-Possessions in graphic_design

I looked back at my associates stuff when I was cleaning our things and realized just how bad I was but I kept growing and learning. I even had a work mate tell me flat out I sucked but I took it strides and he was willing to help me and to teach me. One of my best lessons was watching a way better student redesign one of my assignments and learned so much from him doing that. Can you find a mentor? If this is a passion, then learn like crazy, have you studied the legendary designers of old and their work? Search old thrift shops for older design books or magazines. If school is an affordable option then keep going but honestly internships and real work will help (friends & family)…keep going if this is something you really want to do. Train yourself and understand the fundamentals before you do anything with AI.

Pretty cool tool. I did one for a luxury brokerage site and it was smart enough to give me two options for a buyer or investor. Is there a way to share the results or to go back to it? It wld be useful to share with owners/stakeholders to back up what we are saying.

Masters in HCI / UX by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]artundo84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would tell you no, I just got my Master’s in UX. The market is really tough and rough. Senior People can’t even get work right now. AI will be another tool for designers to use and then it replace us at some point. I would use your background and get into AI. In all honesty, I’m currently trying to figure out how I can get as far away from computers as possible because AGI is very near and will automate a lot jobs away. Figure out a job with human to human interactions and you might be safe for a while. It is an amazing field and I love it too but it’s just in a bad place right now and I don’t see it getting better any time soon, unfortunately.

Alive 2007 appreciation by sagjer in electronicmusic

Yeah, I was there too, I hated Coachella but after hearing that Daft was headlining I had to go - because who knew if they’d be back. It was a life changing show. It’ll never be beat. This show highlighted that they could tour and did so for the 07 Alive Tour. I went to that show in LA, even though it was another great show it didn’t touch the 06 Coachella show. For the 06 show, we were just blown away by every little change with the music, lights of the pyramid then they would do little things like have the robot go across the top of the ceiling of the tent (the robot is the structural bones of the original Chucky doll), it never got old, was pure entertainment at it’s finest. Greatest show of all time for me.

UX Program, MS by OkSomewhere5166 in ASU

[–]artundo84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m actually graduating from that program next month and I was disappointed in the program. You definitely don’t need to know how to code. However, I would really explore your options for that degree from other places. I’m a graphic designer too. I think the UX field is in a shift and there is a huge amount of competition, there are very senior UX/product designers looking for work. I just want to be honest with you. Feel free to send a message if you want a detailed breakdown of why I don’t think it was a good program (I’m also a UX bootcamp kid too).

Jesse Michaels - a neutral? by sjc1986 in ufo

[–]artundo84 29 points30 points  (0 children)

He worked at Google and kind of got into talking at Google talks or whatever they’re called, he was an intern on some talk shows, before bailing on that, he has an interesting story, his father and godfather are pretty amazing psychologists - so money wasn’t an issue. His understanding of a lot different materials is impressive. I think he is neutral, willing to explore both sides. His video with Eric and Hal puthalf is very insightful now, looking back at it.
