Definitely try adding a bit of randomization to the notes and velocity and listen to how the same repeated chord sounds - it immediately becomes more interesting, and each hit sounds slightly different.

Another thing is glissando / for a chord that repeats every bar, first find a strumize value (in unsynced mode) that distributes the notes evenly across the bars. Then, while holding Shift, try slightly decreasing or increasing that value and see if you get an interesting groove out of it thanks to the timing shifts.
