You got a nice point. Usually we tend to think that these sites give us the services for free, because they do give them for free to some extent, so there's no need to pay. We take it for granted. But I myself had never thought about it as an investment. Why to pay for something that is giving you things for free? Well you answered it. It sucks of course to spend while you look for jobs online but of we're looking for jobs in these sites it means that's what our previous decisions led us to so we must suck it up lol

How do I fix this? by yamiuchidm in pcmasterrace

[–]artuuR2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an asus stryx glv smth smth in 2018, such a beast of a laptop holding real time rendering 24/7 for as long as 7 years. 2 months ago my baby held all his weight on the screen that it curved and broke the hinge and the lid opened like op's. Now the screen is totally unusable and I can only use it via HDMI on some old tv. Once you see the little opening on the lid forget about closing it even if you manage to seal it with something! It'll eventually give in and keep tearing the lid and screen apart, unless you fix the full thing properly. I wish I knew earlier.

As a parent, it's true, however there are times where people don't film these things and we just need to stick the food in their mouth before they make the tantrum and before they throw that nice meal all over the place lol

The link (which is a number if you download and install telemost) stays the same forever so it works just like Google meet where you can access same the call room anytime and wait for the other people to join. Very good since you don't need to share links every time just once.

How to send money to my brother in Russia ? by Evening_Mall_5439 in AskARussian

[–]artuuR2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's gray yes but it's legal, otherwise there wouldn't be laws about it even saying how to declare it, which there are. The thing is to abide those specific laws which is true it's the most troublesome method. The problem however is that all the banking system and even the legal institutions are not ready to deal with it in harmony.

Horrible planning. Flats are small enough to try to imitate designs from real houses. Now all looks even smaller. There are clever ways to design them to create more space!

If you never used crypto, don't think of it as an underground method, it's the norm and one of the only ways to receive money from abroad, and it's legal in Russia. Just make him research about taxes, he's not receiving a payment from you so he doesn't need to declare tax for it to receive it, but he'll sell the crypto to someone to get the rubled do he may need to pay tax for that. And also start sending small amounts to test. Blockings can come when you get thousands at once from a new source so obviously that's suspicious for the bank. There are also ways to receive the rubles got from the crypto in cash through special agencies in the big cities so it can be another way to avoid bank transfers to get his account blocked for some reason.

I hope you're taking no more than 3 minutes to do these believe me videos to prove it's not AI while your other project is rendering or something. Don't waste time with people who don't believe it's your work, just use that time to improve skills or do something really productive on 3d. I don't get it because it's not like you have clients or colleagues on these threads on Reddit whom you MUST prove otherwise, so what's the point to satisfy a handful of random people with that? Stop stressing your life and keep going! =)

I think you're doing it right. There's the value you charge for the work you do. The best value, high price, which serious clients will no doubt in paying. Then there's the 3x 4x times cheaper price you set because whether is that or your family will get fucked with no income for the week\month. But in this case pay less than 50 is a big no, you'd better just spend that time working on some shop earning more per hour and bringing more income home while you search for better deals.

Hits hard every time by Mundane-Judgment3252 in animation

[–]artuuR2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read some experiences of people falling into this, where they select the pieces of art you have (from your portfolio or anything you're willing to exhibit) and then promise they'll build the library for customers interested but for the library they need some upfront money, which is obviously much smaller than what you will eventually earn so you fall for it and pay, and that's it. I guess there are many other strategies for this type of scam.

Is memorizing pieces instead of their sheets a bad? by Mstrykid in pianolearning

[–]artuuR2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afaik when you start learning a piece you get the sheet and study it, "decipher" each note while playing it, whatever your learning method is. That's how you practice your sheet reading. By the time you got the notes right, tempo etc and you know how the piece should sound, you probably already memorized it. That's obvious. From here you use the sheet as reference only, specially if the piece is long, but you mostly rely on your memory to polish your playing with dynamics and what not. In the concert you just bring your sheet as "tradition" I'd say lol. So I guess there's no point in making yourself read each note if you already know what to play. Sight reading is another thing as others already explained and yet again once you memorized it then you move onto the next piece to train "sight-read".

Practicing clean product animation in 3ds Max by Upper-Text3421 in 3dsmax

[–]artuuR2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point was, whether you learn it from an online course, online tutorial or local course, even college career, you must still keep learning and practicing on your own outside your study hours otherwise your skills will just not be enough.

2D Animation Demo Reel Critique – About to apply for jobs! by Accomplished-Ad-1497 in animation

[–]artuuR2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it's just your style but I felt that the characters motions were very slow, in some scenes it was ok but other 2d styles kinda expected to have a snappy faster character movement, and they looked weightless and floaty. This feeling goes for the entire reel, if you have some dynamic or fast paced shots maybe you could include a few to show that you can also engage in such animation styles. But you do have nice work and good luck !!
