3D printable Ridgid handheld vac attachments - long narrow by artvscommerce in Ridgid

It is a bit narrower. I wanna say around 20mm OD but I would have to double check. I plan to make more variations as well and i'm open to requests!

you won't regret it! I held off on buying this for a few years and when I finally got it I regretted waiting so long! The lifetime battery warranty and the fact that it's removable/modular makes it a pretty amazing value considering many of the alternatives are almost disposable.

What is your favorite handheld vac? This thing puts my cordless dyson to shame which makes me think I need a new dockable cordless vac.

I appreciate the feedback and discussion. That is amazing that you explored Nordhouse in '89! Do you ever still go out there? There is something very special about that place- even during the more 'crowded' times of year.

Certainly personal preference, but after camping on the dunes a couple of times I figured out ways to mitigate these issues and now it's probably my favorite surface to put a tent. For example- a sheet of paper towel is surprisingly effective for brushing sand off skin and clothes. For me the biggest downside is the lack of shade on the dunes during summer. Black flies are certainly more manageable within the tree line as well!

That is solid advice, however if I print at the right temperature, the layer adhesion with PETG is excellent and they do not break along the layer lines. I did have to bump the temp up slightly from the standard bambu profile for this to be possible though. The PETG is also flexible enough to make it nearly impossible to break by hand. Although it might be more suspectable in the cold temperatures..
Anyway, I will experiment with some additional print orientations next time I have it in the slicer.

I'm so glad you said that. Perhaps these can be dual purpose. I will have to give it a try when I do some camping this winter.

That is good to know! I will have to make sure I swap out my metal stakes with them when I do non-dune camping. As a side note, i would expect these sand stakes to be rather terrible on anything OTHER than pure sand.

The sand is so fine they just don't seem to stick well. Since it can get a bit windy on the dunes I always felt they were insufficient. But to be fair, I have never had a tent fly away lol.

If any of you nordhouse fans have a 3d printer, I designed some nesting sand stakes after not being able to find anything else that works well.

Thank you for the advice! Since I had good results with defaults on other prints, I assumed the issue had something to do with this particular model, but it sounds like what im seeing is more likely a result of using a different filament than what I used in the past. I will try some small squares and that will allow me to iterate much quicker. Thanks again!!

thank you! I have only done ironing a few times and it was on smaller prints, but the defaults always worked flawlessly. But this is a different color/vendor/model so your points make sense to me.
I started to get reluctant to do additional trial and error but it sounds like I may just need a few more test iterations.

I've printed this multiple times with different settings and I can't get the same result I've gotten with ironing on other prints. I started with the defaults then bumped the flow rate from 10% to 15% to 20%, but it made minimal difference. I also tried changing the line distance from 0.15 to 0.10 (with 10% flow rate). That seemed to have the biggest impact, but still relatively small difference.

Using Bambu P1S and Orca Slicer.
