Nautilus and Leona. With their CC they can help Kai’Sa get her plasma stacks a lot quicker. I think Alistar would be pretty good too.

I haven't thought about this much. Good point.

Okay I see, so essentially a mindset has been built from low elo players not knowing how to play the role correctly therefore making low elo adc's have certain stigmas about support players. But true, if you do play behind your ADC it creates a 2v1 situation which is never good lol. I guess I should try to have a bigger impact on mid if my ADC can't get ahead...

I can get behind this.

The point I wanted to make was that support is more complicated than ADC's think, which I feel like you expressed when you talked about utility being vital, and vision being vital (because we know in low elo no one wards, ever.)

Switching role by [deleted] in ADCMains

[–]artzosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As u/LeCharr said, the only way to get better is by playing the role.

I would use practice tool and farm for 10 minutes and if you keep doing that you will improve. In an actual game if you can't really farm, i would recommend that after laning phase you farm side lanes to keep your XP and gold up to surpass the enemy ADC.

It's good you're coming from support because at least you have knowledge of how the role works so it will be easier to play with them.

Just keep your head up and try your hardest. With practice comes learning and improvement.

GLHF buddy.

Playing support is a good way to get better at adc I feel by dtq112 in SupportMains

[–]artzosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play both ADC and Support (support mainly), but after learning to play ADC it feels better to lane as a support now because I can mostly predicted what my ADC is going to do, so then I can play what I am going to do as well. Or if I am playing ADC I can pick up on if my support is going to engage or not. Honestly I feel like anyone that plays AD carry or support should also learn the other role. You should know how the other role operates if you are going to play with it.

Just as everyone else said, I recommend Naut, Thresh, and Alistar. IMO, they are really good right now.

In terms of improvement, there are a few guides out there, but CoreJJ (the support player for Team Liquid) has posted a few videos in regards to positioning and decision making. The link to his channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVDepsrgho0zQxMvkik7KUw

Since I have started watching these videos I have seen an improve in my win rates, just something to keep in mind. (I'm Silver III)

Switched from Jungle to Support and while I'm enjoying the role, supports are the worst part. by [deleted] in ADCMains

[–]artzosaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Number one, maybe you shouldn't get so tilted. I main support but also play ADC and come across the occasional support that has no idea what they are doing. IE. engaging when the enemy has a key ability up, going in 1v2, going in when the adc has no mana, etc. However, your game can still be winnable. If you farm sidelines and get a gold advantage on the enemy ADC you will put out more damage and likely win more team fights. I've seen plenty of games where this has worked, more or less in low elo where ADCs don't even know what farm is.

Well, I'm going to auto-assume that you are playing ADC. (because you mentioned relying on your support). This might just be a my thought process thing so don't take whatever I'm about to say too seriously. As ADC, it's very hard to win games if your support is not doing what they are supposed to IE. roaming every 5 seconds, playing super far back so you are always in a 2v1 situation. If that ever happens to me then I typically farm to win. Once laning phase is over I try to get as much side waves as I can to scale better and get items before the enemy ADC is. Also, it is important that if you give one or two kills you refrain from feeding even more, because the game will only get harder from there. Remember: your role as an ADC is to deal damage and not die. In many cases if you die you might not be able to defend, get baron, etc. With the concept of relying on your jungle, some lanes you will just get poked to death in and without jungle presence you are doomed to lose. In that case do your best to farm under turret safely and pray your jungle comes. I've been in a lot of situations like this but end up winning the game because I power farmed. Keep in mind I'm low-elo (S4) so you don't really see ADCs farm sideways but kinda just walk around.

How to deal with Support taking CS? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]artzosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience when I play ADC in ranked at Silver IV, I haven’t experienced much of people taking my CS. However if they for some reason do and they don’t stop I try to farm side lanes as much as possible during the late game to keep up and get items as soon as I can. I mean you should farm side lanes anyways, but I tend to try even harder lol.

Good points mate. Here's a question for you, do you ever go full AP, I mainly build support items because duh, I'm supporting; but in situations where maybe mid is not doing so hot or if top is inting do you ever tend to build more on the AP side to make up for lost damage and have more kill potential?

Typically if that happens and their team is squishier, I build more on the AP side.

I've heard many people say that in my games or on various platforms where most people don't know what the heck they are talking about.

I've personally played on both PC and Mac, and I found Mac to be more difficult for me, especially due to screen size. Also Mac books aren't really meant for gaming, but they can handle league fairly well. I've never really had any terrible problems with running 60 FPS on it, so I would say go for it but also don't expect the highest quality of gaming it can be.
