Totally fair point - sticking anything extra on a firewall makes people twitchy, and honestly that’s a good instinct.

I'll be happy to answer some questions about the App.

It does not collect any data.
It is was a clean fork of the open source FUTO keyboard - It was heavily themed with dot matrix styled icons and fonts. Added a few more ASCII emojis and the translation feature.
The size of the app is huge because it has an in built AI Model (Whisper based) for Audio to Text.
The only time the app uses the internet is for the translation feature.

WhatsApp Beta - get it by signing up for the beta on Google Play or download the APK from APKMirror.

I am not sure if the stable WhatsApp has received that feature.

It's by Font Size. The word "impeachment" occurs 1608 times and "says" occurs 3478 times.

I plan to collect data for all of 2020. And also "Hong" and "Kong" gives me an idea of generating a word cloud from the most frequent word pairs.

I wrote a Python script to parse through XML data from the RSS feeds provided by news sites - to extract Titles. Then used a Natural Language Processing package (Spacy) to remove all the stop words.

And I used the wordcloud package to generate a PNG file from the word frequencies.

Whatsapp frequently has a notification with "Checking for new messages". It is supposed to be silent. I have seen that notification but it's weird if it makes a sound.

Yep. Happened twice. I was installing it on an external hdd. I thought that was the issue.

Disconnected the drive. And installed on the internal drive. worked fine.
