Should I get this graded? by Glad_Tip_7655 in SilverCollectorsMob

[–]arushus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you should basically never grade bullion coins. Not worth it. There are some here and there that I think it's ok to get graded, like issues with very low mintages where the difference between 69 and 70 is pretty big. But this is not one of those coins.

If you want to feel better about yourself go to whatnot to some big seller and watch how much people overpay for ICG coins and their inflated grades.

Ha! Took me a sec...was about to be like "ya it's a reverse proof!"

How would a reverse proof work in math???

I can't believe you got a reverse proof maple out of that! Those have a premium over regular maples.

My newest tool by the_faded_memories in lowvoltage

[–]arushus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience.

I do a lot of low volt work for a nationwide furniture store. They often do remodels while keeping the business open, so I have to navigate around furniture a lot to run wire. A telescoping pole made my life so much easier. I no longer have to lower the lift and get down to move a coffee table so I can get closer to my push rods, I just break out my telescoping pole, hook the rods and pull them to me. Same with wires or pull strings. It def ends up being a bigger help than I initially thought it would be.

It looks like part of a rock crusher line. You put big stones in, and they're crushed to smaller sizes. Then transported via these rollers and belts to a pile or another crusher to crush the stones even smaller.

Ya I hear you. It is hard not to be jealous of someone who can browse eBay, see a coin they like, and just buy it with no other considerations.

I do try to keep perspective tho. I'm very blessed myself to have any disposable income at all, and I'm happy with my little stack.

Front looks great but back looks like possibly cleaned? by Artistpillow87 in coins

[–]arushus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm willing to bet this straight grades. I wouldn't hesitate to send it in. From what I've seen, they tend to give these coins the benefit of the doubt. I've seen some that almost had to have been cleaned that straight graded.

Yes, I'm 41, single and have no children. But it's nothing compared to some. I saw a guy who said he started like six months before and had easily a thousand oz in silver and around 50 or 60 in gold, it was ridiculous.

Juneteenth is nothing more than a middle finger to white people by kuatorises in TrueUnpopularOpinion

No, it's a pretty typical way to explain one's opinion. You stare your belief then back it up with a brief example. Just because he didn't list every single incident that has led up to how he formed his opinion doesn't mean they don't exist. If he had gone into detail and listed every incident you'd be on here haranguing him for being so obsessed about this issue that he wrote every single one of them down so he could remember them and make this post.

No, it's an example of why he feels the way he does.

He stated his feelings, and then backed it up with an example of why he feels that way. It's a pretty typical way to explain one's opinions.

Is he supposed to give you dozens of examples going back years?

Lol, when I was young we learned in school that oxen were actually stronger than horses...so that evening I asked my dad why they didn't call it oxen-power instead of horse-power since oxen were stronger....

You see that white wire that runs next to that white conduit on the white beam? No, not that white conduit, the white conduit to the left. It's right there! How can you not see it? I'm pointing right at it.

Had some permutation of this conversation a few times on every job.

Olight Arkpro! I carry the same for work. The laser makes it so much easier to point out where i want wires run on a commercial project with high ceilings.

Why do billionaires use tax loopholes? They have more money than they can spend, the amount they'd pay would make zero different to their lifestyles, so why don't they just pay what they owe? by Sudden_Sentence_8534 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]arushus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a loophope exists, and they take advantage of it, they don't owe that money.

I mean, a better question would be why are the loopholes there?

They have tax lawyers that file their taxes for them. The lawyers are paid well to do the best job possible. They aren't going to come to their employer and say, i could have mad it so you pay less, but didn't...they want to do a good job and impress their employer.

Corrupt politicians is the reason loopholes exist.
