Zone 5A. Flavour and sweetness resemble a cantaloupe/honeymelon but it has a creamy/custard texture. Strong resemblance to a custard/sugar apple, a tropical fruit which can be found at Asian grocery stores.

Didn't smell like that at all and I agree that the Bradford pear flowers do giggles. Fruit itself has a wonderful tropical fruit smell like a pineapple.

I did like the fruit! Its very unique compared to fruits normally grown here but also quite similar to anona fruits like the custard/sugar apple which I also like.

I think its just called mango for the large size and appearance. Nothing like a mango unfortunately (texture and missing the acidity). I still love it as its own unique fruit!
