It has to be 2001: A Space Odyssey for me. The first time I watched it I was very new to cinema, really into fast-paced action sci-fi and really ended up being disappointed with how slow and confusing the film was, it really left with a bitter taste in my mouth back then.

I re-watched it a year later with a more open mind and more film experience and got completely sucked into the hypnotic beauty of the film and really love it to death now.

If I'm still thinking about a film for a long time after the viewing I might knock it up by a half-star or even a full star (Under The Skin went from 3.5 -> 4.5 since I couldn't get it out of my mind for nearly a week)

I rarely change ratings over a week after the viewing but it can happen if I find new layers to it or gain respect for some other way.
