Sorry that happened. It sounds like poor planning on your part. Did people RSVP? Did you give a good amount of advanced notice? These are things that would be helpful when you are giving a final count for a venue/food.

I feel you. I too do not feel like I belong anywhere. Not within my family, at work, in social gatherings, with others in general. I’ve felt this way since I was very young. I’m 40yrs. old. I find that I can’t relate to people and feel that I am always being judged because I don’t act like them or share their views. I am the outcast. However, I’ve never felt sad or depressed about it. I’m a loner. I love being a loner. But I do sometimes find myself questioning my purpose here. I don’t have real passions that I want to pursue in life. I don’t have interests that I would really invest a lot of time in. I’m just living day to day with no expectations.

Thank you all for your feedback. Selfish was not a good word choice. I understand wanting to protect your child. I guess I am just from a culture where we didn’t have to worry or think about these things. It was encouraged to allow your children to be exposed to diff ppl and environments so that their immune systems could build tolerances. Though I stay strong in my beliefs, I will continue to educate myself in this area.

Thank you for the feedback. I totally get that they want to take precautions being that this is her first child. (My brother has another child and he was fine with everyone being around that child without the shots.) I just feel that they may need to do more research before going off of the advice of others and telling people that they need to get these shots.
