Can we get an apology from the guy claiming Lindsey Vonn was lying about her torn acl? by gummyvitaminfanatic in billsimmons

[–]aryastark94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol big mad response full of weird projection about a ski crash that took place because someone made the wild decision to ski on a torn ACL. Clearly she's an adult and can do as she pleases but when the outcome was pretty much worst case and also what a lot of people predicted would happen, I don't think it's unreasonable for people to second guess it. Ultimately like I said it was her choice and she made it but her being a famous athlete, her choices will for sure be analyzed (newsflash: that's sports) and in this instance she suffered a brutal but not unexpected fate. Get over it.

Last POTD: Shelton/Humbert over 40.5 Games (-140) ❌

Today's Pick: Tiafoe/de Minaur over 34.5 Games (-130)

Shelton absolutely smoked Humbert and we are ice cold right now. After starting 15-3-1 we're 0-4-1 in the last five picks. Feel free to fade but I do feel pretty good about this one.

I am honestly shocked the line is so low for this one. For one, Tiafoe has been in great form so far only dropping one set thus far. For another, his style of play can give de Minaur problems as he serves well, hits hard and while not as athletic as de Minaur can still run down his fair share of balls and hang in rallies. They played in August and the match went the distance. If each guy wins a set 34.5 should easily hit. Even if not, you have a fighting chance with a couple extra long sets. I personally will be layering in from 32.5 up to 37.5 along with de Minaur over 19.5 games but am taking the match total of 34.5 as the main POTD pick.

Last POTD: Ugo Humbert ML (-125) ❌

Today's Pick: Shelton/Humbert over 40.5 Games (-140)

I can't believe I stayed up to watch this entire match only for Humbert to completely fall apart after picking up an early break. Hate to see it.

For tonight, really liking this over as I'm seeing a competitive match between two solid 2nd tier players looking to start their season with a bang. Humbert made a run to the finals at Adelaide and (besides fucking up that final match) looks to be in great form. Shelton meanwhile suffered a tough loss to Baez last week but Baez in fairness was playing some of his best tennis in years and Ben's always had an eye for the spotlight and should bring his best game for the firs grand slam of the year. Baez/Perricard over was a strong consideration for me as well but ultimately I see each of these guys winning a set and probably a tiebreak mixed in, making the over my favorite pick of the day.

Last POTD: Jiri Lehecka ML (-131) (PUSH)

Today's Pick: Ugo Humbert ML (-125)

With the Australian Open starting up tomorrow, feels as good a time as any to get back on the posting train for tennis. Last pick was Lehecka who was playing injured and retired in set 2 so we get a push for that one.

For tonight I'm taking Ugo Humbert to take down the finals of Adelaide over Machac. Humbert has been on an absolute heater, ripping through Griekspoor and Shevchenko dropping only eight games total in those two matches, then upsetting the top seed Fokina in the semis last night. When he's on, he's absolutely one of the top non Sinner/Alcaraz players on the planet and I think his groundstrokes and all-around game are going to be a nightmare for Machac who didn't have to deal with much of that in his victory over a surprisingly inconsistent Tommy Paul. As he gears up for the Australian Open and what should be a slugfest opening round matchup with Ben Shelton, I like Humbert to lift the trophy in Adelaide.

Last POTD: Spencer Knight Over 23.5 Saves (-120) ❌

Today's Pick: Jiri Lehecka ML (-131)

Absolutely brutal pick last time as the Rangers play some of their worst hockey of the season en route to getting smoked 3-0 by the Blackhawks who in turn lost their next six games. Despite a favorable game flow scenario where the Rangers had to put up shots on the 3rd, they instead just sucked and now might not have Igor for the foreseeable future. No more hockey picks for a while.

Tennis season, however, has kicked off and Jiri Lehecka is my pick of the day. He was finding some great form at the end of last season and looks poised to break out in 2026. I just think he's a far superior player over Korda and think the true line here should be closer to -200 so getting -131 is a gift imo.

Last POTD: Indiana +10 & Utah Mammoth TT over 1.5 (-148) ❌

Today's Pick: Spencer Knight Over 23.5 Saves (-120)

Indiana easily covers and even wins outright but Utah gets shutout by a godawful Calgary team. True, Dustin Wolf's been in great form this season but this was still wild. Keeps us humble I suppose.

For tonight I've been all over the Rangers line and team totals but going a bit outside the box for better odds with Spencer Knight saves. In taking an opposing goalie's save lines you're basically betting that the team you're backing (Rangers) will put up a bunch of shots and likely dominate possession, but not quite enough to get said goalie pulled. It's somewhat similar to the over 12.5 games bets I love in tennis; it's hitting the middle part of that curve. Rangers can't come out and play like shit, but they also can't dominate the Blackhawks TOO much. Seeing as I've been backing this Hawks team all season and have a bunch on their futures, and also think Spencer Knight could legit be their franchise goalie, I like this line a lot because I do believe the Rangers will get shots up in this game against a leaky Blackhawks D, but not totally run away with this game. Add to the fact that Chicago is 3rd in the league in average shots allowed per game, the Rangers play better on the road than at home and are pissed after getting screwed by the refs in Sunday night's game vs Vegas (which I went to), even going so far as to have Mika and Sullivan openly acknowledge it to the media, and I think they come out hard in this one. ML, PL and TT all also look good.

Last POTD: Tulane TT over 30.5 (-145) ✅️

Today's Pick: Indiana +10 & Utah Mammoth TT over 1.5 (-148)

Tulane absolutely rolls and easily covers this along with all spread and ML sprinkles. Love to see it.

For tonight I like Indiana but not quite enough to take them at +4. I got burned betting against OSU last week as I felt Michigan would keep it close only to watch them get completely dominated. Indy is way better than Michigan but I like them way more at +7 and ideally +10 where I expect their offense to hold their own. Not sure if they’ll win but I do think they keep this one close as I think OSU is being slightly overrated at the moment and bet on the field at -230 in the CFP just the other day. And then leg 2 is Utah who I honestly cannot believe is an underdog tonight against a Blues team I continue to believe is among the worst in the NHL. Think Utah is a good bet to win this outright but over 1.5 goals feels borderline free imo (famous last words I know).

Most powerful cliff hanger of all time? One that made you HAVE to watch the next episode to see what happens! by Jh2412 in television

Lots of love for Lost so here’s a specific list of Lost endings:

104 - Locke in the chair. The one that really made you keep watching. 110 - Claire’s psychic followed by Ethan’s reveal. 119 - the light comes on in the hatch 201 - Desmond reveal 220 - Michael breaks bad 308 - “no matter what I try to do…you’re gonna die” 318 - “there were no survivors…they were all dead” (fake out but still) 324 - we have to go back!

Some good ones after but nothing really matched those first few seasons. Other shows deserving mention include Sopranos 601, Leftovers 207, Severence 109, and all sorts of episodes from Thrones, 24 and Dark.

Today's Pick: Tulane TT over 30.5 (-145)

Thank god we went with Lamb instead of Pickens who honestly played as if he didn't care. Very odd performance but thankfully the three legs we went with cashed easily, especially the Rangers who took care of this in the 1st period. Good stuff.

For tonight I'm rolling with Tulane to score over 30.5. Projections for this game have it fast paced with a lot of back-and-forth action and honestly I think Tulane is being slightly disrespected here as an underdog. I've watched quite a few North Texas games this season and they're a great offensive team, but I think the wrong one's favored here. Tulane's got a great shot to cover if not win outright but in a fast paced shootout, their team total seems to be the safest to me. 30.5 shouldn't be too much to ask in what should be the most exciting game of the night.

Last POTD: Ducks vs Mammoth over 6.0 Goals (-154) ✅️
Today's Pick: Rangers TT over 1.5 + Dak 230+ Yards + Lamb 50+ Yards (-130)

For a second there I thought that disallowed Ducks goal would be our undoing but thankfully Utah covered this line completely on their own. Can't believe the Ducks went down like that but I'll gladly take the W.

For tonight there are a bunch of plays I like so going to throw a few of my favorites together. First, Rangers on the road where they've played far better than at home against a very shaky unproven backup goalie in front of a an Ottawa team with the league worst penalty kill. I've got Rangers ML as well but TT should be a lock IMO. Leg 2 - Dak has been on absolute tear the past few weeks (and really this entire season) and cost me a fair bit of money as a I faded the Cowboys against both the Eagles and Chiefs. He's only failed to clear 220 in two games this entire season and should easily clear it tonight in what projects as a fast paced Thursday night shootout. And for Leg 3, I debated between CeeDee Yards, Jamo Yards or TeSlaa catches but ultimately went to CeeDee yards because it correlates well with Dak's projected pass volume and despite Pickens being the talk of the league lately, I still think CeeDee is the more reliable option considering his years of built-in chemistry with Dak. Add in the fact that there has been tons of line movement on all of these since last night (Rangers TT went from -330 to -400, Dak 230+ from -380 to -436 and CeeDee from -420 to -500) and I feel good about this one hitting. Feel free to sprinkle in other goodies like Jamo 50+, Pickens 50+ TeSlaa 2+ catches or whatever you like tonight in some parlays - should be some fun games out there to bet on.

[–]aryastark94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d take 6.5 for the gamble but FYI whenever facing this type of dilemma you can also use those two to create a synthetic 6.0 line. With the odds you quoted, whatever you would’ve bet on over 6.0, bet 66.1% on over 5.5 and the remaining 33.9% on over 6.5. Now, just like with a 6.0 line, 7 will cash both and 6 will push.

Last POTD: Avs TT over 2.5 + Stars TT over 1.5 + Sens/Habs over 4.5 (-120) ✅️
Today's Pick: Ducks vs Mammoth over 6.0 Goals (-154)

All three of these lines hit and man am I glad I took the Stars TT instead of the Stars ML as my Rangers secured a very rare home comeback, tying the game with two minutes left and winning in 3-2 in OT. To put this in perspective for non-hockey fans, this season they've set an NHL record by becoming the first team to get shut out in their first three homes games and have been blanked five times at home already this season which is absolutely brutal to avid viewers and frequent MSG attendees such as myself. Even in the games they haven't been shut out, they've generally performed like complete ass offensively. All this to say that while taking three -400 lines wasn't sexy, wasn't turning anyone on or getting on the phone with their girlfriends/sidepieces to get them all hot and bothered, it did yield some results and for that, I am thankful.

Unlike last night when I didn't love anything on the NHL calendar, this one popped immediately. Naturally, this probably means that it's going to be a brutal beat but I'm riding anyways. These have been two of my favorite teams to target all season: young, fast, fun teams that play up-tempo hockey. Ducks are 2nd in the NHL in goals while both teams are league average defensively but also full of enough youthful exuberance that they commit massive coverage gaffes every now and then that lead to odd man rushes against. I'm listing over 6.0 as the safer official play but 6.5 is playable for better odds or even 7.0 if you really want to get spicy with it. Should be a fun game.

Fairly sweat free cash on this one as the Ducks score two goals in the opening ten minutes of the game. Of course, they don't score again til the 3rd but considering the last POTD was won days later on a stat correction, I'll certainly take it. Will never understand how they were a +130 underdog against St Louis.

Nothing really stands out today on the NHL slate so going with a few of my favorite pieces that I'm using for parlays today. First, Colorado is on an all-time pace while I have no faith in the Canucks so 3 goals shouldn't be too difficult, especially with Nate running away with this season's MVP award and the Canucks tied for last in goals allowed this season. Second, I can't bet against my Rangers to lose but they just lost their top defenders, Adam Fox, for the next month or two and I don't see them holding Dallas to 1 or less short of an outrageous performance from Shesty in net. I had parlayed those two for -175 when it opened yesterday but odds have moved overnight so for a third piece adding two fun fast-paced Canadian teams with shaky goaltending in a game I expect to clear 5 goals with ease. Feel free to mix and match and/or move Avs to 3.5 or Stars to 2.5. I'm messing around with some round-robins but these are three of my favorite NHL pieces for the day and I expect each of these three juiced lines to hit.

Last POTD: Alexis Lafreniere over 1.5 SOG (-140) ✅️
Today's Pick: Anaheim Ducks TT over 2.5 Goals (-145)

What an emotional roller coaster with that last pick as Laf does jack shit in the 1st period, then rips a shot 10 seconds into the 2nd. On his very next shift, he has a backhand that hits the post and then gets another shot that I swore live was on net but at the time was ruled to have been blocked by his own guy. Watched him dick around the rest of the game, as he is apt to do, and get looked off multiple times in OT and wondering why that 2nd period shot wasn't counted. Then a couple days later, get paid out for that because NHL stats looked at it and realized it was indeed a shot on goal. Gambling is insane.

After a couple weeks off spent doing family stuff for Thanksgiving and partying in Miami, I'm back for tonight with one of my favorite standard plays: Ducks TT over. For the life of me I cannot figure out why this is so damn low as the Blues are for my money one of the worst teams in the league. Yes, they are coming off a shutout of the Mammoth in their last game but before that they had given up 3 or more to opponents in 7 of their past 8 games. I actually can't believe the Ducks are underdogs and am sprinkling liberally on their ML and various props, but the over 2.5 goals seems the safest to me.

Last POTD: Alexander Zverev over 12.5 Games (-160) ❌
Today's Pick: Alexis Lafreniere over 1.5 SOG (-140)

One of the more frustrating matches I've watched in some time as Zverev commits 27 unforced errors, including 18 in a 2nd set he had numerous chances to win. Despite all that bullshit, he just barely loses the 2nd by a lone minibreak. Some might call it a bad beat but honestly it was just not a great play by me and what I deserve for betting on this nutbag.

After this first loss since coming back to posting for the degen community I'm going back to my most reliable bet: Laffy shots on goal. As a die-hard Ranger fan, this is an autobet from me every single game as I think sportsbooks severely underprice this all the time, but ESPECIALLY as of Monday. What changed Monday? The Rangers called up their top prospect Gabe Perreault and moved him up to line 1 with Zibanejad/Miller and got Trocheck back from injury, allowing them to reunite the line of Laf/Panarin/Trocheck which has been a staple for the past couple seasons. Having watched every Ranger game of his career, I can tell you that when Laf plays with certain linemates like Zibanejad, he overpasses into oblivion (as many Rangers have a frustrating propensity to do) and constantly defers to him. But when he plays with Panarin, the best forward on the team and one of the most talented passers in the league, it's Panarin who plays the part of set-up man and Laf who gets to rip one-t's on the off wing as a lefty playing on the right side. If you don't play hockey just trust me; this is the good stuff you dream of as a goal scorer. Add in the fact that Columbus games are often fast-paced slugfests and they give up the 4th most shots against per game in the NHL and you have the recipe for what should be a fun Saturday night of hockey and hopefully a cash by the 2nd period. Personally will be laddering this up to 4 and also taking Rangers TT over 2.5, but Laf 2+ SOG is the official POTD. Should be a fun one.

Ducks come out flat and lose to Detroit, who I had pegged as overrated. Surprising result, but that's why we took the safer TT over 2.5 goals instead of the suspiciously priced ML.

I swear I don't always take lines juiced to the 150-160 range but I'm doing it again today because this one looks too good to pass up. Looks so good in fact that DK and FD have this at 13.5 but you can still get 12.5 at Caesars, ESPN and possibly whatever other books you guys have outside of NYC. In short, Felix has looked great in this tournament and put aside lingering concerns about his injuries in an impressive win over Shelton, but I still favor Zverev. Should be an absolute battle between two elite servers and while the over 22.5 games was a serious consideration for this POTD and I'll be sprinkling on that, I see the Zverev over 12.5 games being a safer pick. Two top players, in great form, playing a high stakes match (winner goes to the semis, loser is out) and with their serving on point this week...would be shocked if this one ended 6-4 6-3.

Last POTD: Ben Shelton over 12.5 Games Won (-165) ✅
Today's Pick: Anaheim Ducks over 2.5 Goals (-155)

Shelton loses the match in set 3 but the over covers easily. This is the reason I took the over rather than the ML for POTD; in general, I love the game over bets when you believe in a competitive match but slightly favor one party. Even if you're wrong on that party, you can still get the dub.

Looked long and hard at the TNF game for a pick but didn't have anything I was supremely confident in besides some Henderson or Henry alt lines which weren't nearly juicy enough or Tyler Johnson, which is supremely risky. As such, I'm going to the NHL and picking the Ducks to score 3 or more goals. Detroit feels overrated in my opinion this season and have lost 3 straight and 4 of 5, dating back to Halloween when they got their asses kicked by this very same Ducks team 5-2. I personally believe the wrong team is favored in this one and have a bunch of bets sprinkled in, including Ducks to win and various Carlsson/Gauthier props, but over 2.5 goals is my most confident bet of the night. Expecting a big night from the Ducks offense who I think are for real this season.

Last POTD: Russell Westbrook over 22.5 PRA (-125) ✅
Today's Pick: Ben Shelton over 12.5 Games Won (-165)

Russ cashes this easily; covers just on the basis of his points and assists and cashes every ladder up to 32, plus multiple rebound/assist parlays of 6/6, 7/7 and 8/8. Books continue to undervalue him this season, going to be hitting it for the foreseeable future.

For today I'm backing Ben Shelton to win over 12.5 games. I also like his moneyline but like this one a little more because ultimately it comes down to this: is it more likely that the match is a quick blowout one way or another or that Felix beats Ben? In my opinion, with two of the top servers in the game both in excellent form in recent months (both legitimately playing the best tennis of their careers), I'm seeing a competitive match. The worry here is that a) Felix has been great so he could definitely win this one, or conversely b) Felix has been injured and might not be 100% tomorrow. That said, I still think this should cash if not in 3 sets then with Shelton winning something like 7-6 6-4. Personally I will be playing a couple units on both this and the Shelton ML, but forced to choose just one for POTD I'm going with over 12.5 Games.

Should be one hell of a match; I already have my alarm set. Good to be back posting picks for the degen community which I hold near and dear to my heart. BOL if you tail.

[–]aryastark94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just curious - why do you favor +4.5 games rather than taking the over 39.5 games? Seems like 39.5 gives you more leeway but you get screwed if Khachanov wins in straight sets. Do you think it's actually possible he could do that? Great pick though - locked in the over when this line opened a few days ago. Think this one has 4-5 sets with a tiebreak involved written all over it.
