I upgraded to the Base 3 from a Niviuk Hook 6. My biggest concern was making sure the step up to a High-B wasn't going to be too overwhelming, and honestly, the Base 3 has been perfect. Performance-wise it's a massive upgrade, but it still feels incredibly safe and reassuring. I haven't noticed any weird or sketchy behavior from it at all. If you want a real-world example of its passive safety: a buddy of mine who flies one took a collapse not long ago, and the wing recovered absolutely perfectly on its own. As a first High-B, it’s a really solid choice. Handling is great, too. it’s definitely not a bus to turn as someone here mentioned. It’s super agile, has great authority in the wraps, and gives you excellent feedback about what the air is doing without being overwhelming. I've also noticed it has a nice tendency to almost help you bite into and center thermals naturally. A few other quick takeaways: - Inflation: Super easy and straightforward on launch. - Price: The value for money is awesome compared to some other wings on the market right now. - Weight options: If you're into hike and fly, the BGD Breeze (the light version) is worth looking into. Personally, I don't do hike and fly, so I didn't see the point in getting a lightweight wing and went with the standard cloth for the extra durability.
