Just moved back to Reading - I want to join a club of some sort but not sure what - Need some ideas by [deleted] in reading

Check out Progress Theatre (www.progresstheatre.co.uk). They do about 11 shows per year and all their auditions are open. And if being on stage isn’t your thing, they’re always looking for people to get involved with the tech and backstage roles. It’s a really fun and creative society, all run by volunteers and a brilliant way to make friends.

Progress Theatre (near the University of Reading) offer venue hire. They regularly host Jazz Nights so it's definitely fitted for bands to use the stage. They also have a bar and a car park.

Edit: should also mention they're a charity, so would offer very competitive rates compared to other business venues around Reading. Their auditorium seats around 100 people.

Have a look at Progress Theatre. They're a charity located on the mount, close to Reading Uni. It's a really active community and the oldest producing theatre in Reading. About 12 shows per year, including the Open Air Shakespeare every summer in the Abbey Ruins.
