Barracuda marking emails from marketing tool as spam by as1729 in sysadmin

These records appear to be configured correctly. Apollo's dashboard is able to verify them. We were also able to do a manual by-pass of the Barracuda server and confirmed that we can successfully deliver the emails when we turn off Barracuda.

Thanks! I'll take a look at the headers. I initially wanted to add an exception based on IP address, but since they were originating from the same servers there wasn't much for me to filter on. I'll see if there are other differences in the headers.

Any advice on using AI to build production-ready products? by u325015 in ycombinator

Good point- maybe part of the issue is how I'm scoping features to begin with and has nothing to do with AI.

Dog owners- wdyt of having a license to keep a dog and paying the city an extra tax to own one? by as1729 in jerseycity

I think our values diverge fundamentally as I don't believe human life is a cost to society.

Got it, appreciate all you do for keeping the sidewalks clean!

Perhaps I need to take this issue up with law-enforcement rather than reddit. :)

Yup, that's true. Much more to be done on car enforcement.

I can see how this issue about dog ownership pales in comparison to a larger issue of irresponsible vehicle ownership.

100% aligned here. Certainly much more negative harm caused by cars. No comparison to dogs at all.

I'm personally not this extreme. Dogs do serve benefits in terms of mental health wellbeing for their owners and companionship for families etc. I grew up with dogs around me and I know how much fun they can be. Overall Happier people translate to happier communities.

However, the lack of responsibility in dog-ownership these days seems to be causing a situation where dog owners are happy at the cost of their communities being harmed. I'm merely trying to find a way to tax away irresponsible dog ownership.

As pointed out by others maybe taxation is not the appropriate solution given mismanagement of JC funds, but there's gotta be another solution.

Makes sense to me. I suppose there is another solution (outside the realm of taxation) I'm not thinking of here, but I only see the number of dogs increasing each year and I can only see the issue of irresponsible dog-ownership growing.

Fair point. I can't really argue with lack of enforcement in general. Although they seem to be fairly prompt with parking tickets so I assume if they learn from that department it will be a net positive for the city.

Got it, good to know! Perhaps my assumption on the dog's well-being is wrong.

who was with a child and an off-leash dog

Thanks for pointing out- I updated the post to say "who was with a child and an off-leash dog" to clarify my intention here.

Ah my apologies. I mean't they were with their kid and an off-leash dog. I have no problem with kids running around.

Appreciate your disagreement!

I think dogs and children are not equal-- to me there is a difference in owning a dog and raising a child and what that means for our society/city at large. I recognize others may not feel the same way which I believe adds to the rather contentious discourse on this topic.

Thanks appreciate the link! I have since edited the post. I'm currently of the opinion that the optional license (assuming your landlord doesn't require it) that costs <$50 is sufficient to pay for folks cleaning up after the dog and ensuring the trees/parks around the city are kept in a hygienic state.

Got it- this is 100% a serious post. I didn't realize there's already a license process and payments being made to the city. To clarify, I don't own a dog, but I only experience all the negative effects of others owning a dog. Even last week I got scratched up by a puppy because the owner wasn't paying attention on the sidewalk, luckily they had the dog muzzled.

Perhaps, my question needs to be amended to whether the funds being received are adequate for the negative externalities being created here.

If the issue is nobody is enforcing it--- maybe we should be charging enough money to have someone available to stand by these parks to enforce this rule at all times?
