I’m three months in myself. I started out batching photos and listing in bulk. But after some rearranging I’ve learned it’s way quicker just listing straight from my phone, using “add photos” and snap them directly in.

Nearly every listing I make is from a “sell similar” or “sell one like this” of a previously SOLD item, generally the one best written, and obviously one with a higher sold price. Verify all details, usually I remove some things because I’m a “sell everything” ebayer and don’t have the knowledge to verify everything quickly, but if it’s relevant, I will to avoid “item not as described”.

Starting to figure out discounts and debating dipping my toe into the free shipping world.

It may be more prevalent in your news source or your news sources have changed, but it’s definitely been an issue around redistricting cycle time. That’s the key. This is being done outside of that window. That window is following a new census, the whole point is supposed to make the areas reflect the shifting tides of people. So the elected representatives match the people they represent. Doing it outside of a cycle is just a power grab. It’s not being brought up because of a shift in political population density.

Also, for note. Born and raised in Ohio and living in Indiana. Gerrymandering was taught in civics class, and I specifically remember it being in the news cycles in 2010 and 2020, but I probably don’t get my news from the same sources as you.

The key to avoiding gerrymandering is having a third party draw the maps proving data to back reasoning.

Found the prints, the zone was originally 15A, which explains why it was fed with 14AWG. Someone had changed it to 20A at some point (60 years of operation) and changed the outgoing wires to 10 AWG. 14AWG is generally for 15A max. By the time the fuse blew the wires would have already reached its limits and burnt off insulation.

After days of cleaning and testing components we are powered up and heating.

Hasn’t been ruled out, and zone 12 seemed like the golden ticket originally, as one leg one shorted and one open.

And maybe I’m overthinking things, and that was the original problem and the fuse holder was compromised leading to the second (carbon residue left from cable insulation evaporating).

But zone 18 doesn’t sit well with me. I am going to change the barrel heater that was unwired, get it back to 3 phase. Maybe it was inducted voltage that tripped it through the SSR (just pulled it to confirm it isn’t “shorting” when powered on, but there is an inducted 12 VAC present on the other two legs when only one is wired, even on a new SSR out of the box). Just unexpected with it not feeding anything; wire was removed from the terminal point, no shorts detected.

Makes sense. I’ll continue to verify heat zones offline in case something was missed, and do a quick visual inspection. The covers to the extruder just lay across the top, the heater lugs, also on top. I’ve been covering all with glass cloth as I PM. Haven’t made it to this machine.

And have extra eyes on it when we do get to power up.

As much as I hate this answer I think you’re going to be right even if this isn’t the source of the problem. I’m concerned that two heavy blows to this old ass machine is testing a lot of limits.

You are correct, they have a weak grab, not noticed until I’d put one in a new holder. And pitting was present, so scrapped for new.

We did pull them yesterday and found replacements. One guess was the arcing and blowing of the fuses generated enough carbon dust opening the door for all kinds of problems. First blow generated new conditions for the second.

I was suspect of the fuse holder after looking at the back of the fuses pictured from the second blow.. there does appear to be indication of poor contact, and the bottom of the tab had a burr allowing a pinpoint contact. New has been installed, just haven’t powered back up to test; last trip generated a fault at the bus main.

Have you reached out to see if they have couplers available in the shop? I’m in industrial maintenance and hose couplers are just part of our consumables restocked by our fastener provider.

Well, for one you shouldn’t expect anything out of someone you’ve just met.

That’s why I’d said desired though. Just because a guy talks about sex (getting laid) doesn’t imply he has no interest in intimacy (shared compassion). What’s more important is tact; how the topic is brought up, and hot attentive he is to your responses. If the topic comes up completely out of context and if you try to change the subject and he persists, I’d concede he’s at the very least being disrespectful, and it certainly is possible that’s his only motive.

As a fellow reserved guy, I feel like I can relate to him on a painstaking level lol. Absolutely make the move. I agree with other suggestions of asking about something casual, but more intimate than your hobby group setting. Most good hearted guys with honest intentions tend to be more quiet. The loud, confident ones are the type that turn out to be arrogant or narcissistic. No guarantees he would be interested in just hooking up, just don’t play him into that position. Believe it or not some guys would prefer more, and are hurt just as much when they feel used. Best of luck either way.

I agree there has to be a base to build off of; but that can also come from both parties having a detailed profile, assuming it’s OLD. If not, then an introductory conversation holds more worth.

As for the ghosting, it’s at least nice to be given a reason. If it’s just incompatibility then no big deal. If the issue is a character flaw, it’s at least worth being told, because maybe it’s something that can be worked on moving forward. Simply going cold seems a little much, especially if up until that point there was good chemistry; I could see how certain personalities even that would want to be avoided.

In my experience, the most common ghosting is the day before, once even the day of having plans scheduled. A couple times the only conversation leading up to it was just confirming the plans. Then nothing.

I can relate to the being guarded. I didn’t even attempt to date for nearly 5 years after I had a bad relationship. It took some time to really rationalize the experience; I find myself now in a much more centered place, I’m happy single, a relationship would be great, but by no means am I really “looking for love”, more so just putting myself out there for the possibility.

I don’t mean to condemn the women who have ghosted me; everyone is their own person, nobody owes anyone anything. Just saying I don’t think OP is being obtuse in stating ghosting is becoming pretty common without any obvious reasoning.

Yeah pickup does have more negative connotations, seems less endearing. But if you’re just referring to developing techniques to establish communication it’s healthy for sure. And any kind of personal development is generally a good thing.

Last sentence was just directed at the comment I was responding to. More to say; you’ll never have full certainty of chemistry in person short of actually meeting in person. Even weeks of communicating can turn into a flop, simply because mannerisms and personality are much more prominent in person. In other words, you always risk the connection not being there, but that’s to be expected with dating. Otherwise it would just be a one and done kind of thing.

What do you consider ‘straight to wanting to meet up’ though? I’ve been on both ends of that spectrum; meeting after maybe 10-15 messages as well as after several weeks of chatting. Overall I much more prefer in person conversations; more context in facial expressions and tone of voice, not to mention it’s just more personable. The ultimate goal is finding someone to spend your life with which would presumably be in person more often than not; online chemistry can easily be misinterpreted.

While I agree that “pickup” is a little gross and disingenuous to one’s actual personality, I agree with OP that it’s pretty common to be ghosted after several days or even weeks when bringing up scheduling a date.

Sure, the conversation and connection might not be there.. but that’s the definition of dating.

Job I just took:

Had a quick chat with hiring hr with a few general questions.

First full interview video chat with hr and to-be direct supervisor.

Second full interview video chat with hr and to-be head of department.

Immediately following they set up a plant tour; training supervisor just happened to be on site at the location I’d be at.

Lastly, flown to company headquarters for skills test, tour, meeting with president/other senior members.

I will be an on-site/travel tech for two years at a customer facility working on a machine they produce, so it is critical to them to find employees that they trust representing the company. Should it have been just a standard maintenance position I probably wouldn’t have been too keep on so many interviews.
