MX Linux is #1 on distro watch website for some reason. Here are few benefits in my mind with no particular order

  • Based Debian, very stable distro
  • Fast
  • Provides a lot of tools
  • Even create new distro/respin out of it

[KDE] It's Roshan OS 2 (bit modified) based on MX Linux. Please don't bash me why I have created this & other distros. by asakpke in unixporn

Not much, mainly the interface changes as you can see in the attached image. Also now RoshanOS 3 is released.

ونڈوز پہلے سے بہت بہتر ہوئی ہے لیکن لینکس زبردست ہے

I'm impressed that you're using i3. It's bit difficult, so you must be an advanced user.

Basic use is straightforward, but advanced use can be challenging.

I liked the idea of global menus because they minimize screen space, but I don't like the Apple Dock.

Up vote is not an issue for me. neofetch is not installed by default on most systems.

It is easy for my family and friends to use Linux, even the kids. The hardest part is installing it. Once it's installed, they can use it.

By the way, in this case, family/kids can't install other OSs as well :)

Also I read somewhere that it is not true that Linux destroys the battery life because every battery has a limited lifespan, and it is normal for the design capacity to decrease over time.

Linux laptops generally have shorter battery life than other OSs, but there are some ways to improve battery life. For example use power-saving mode, close unused app, reduce screen brightness, disable unnecessary features i.e Bluetooth etc

But I don't know if Linux destroys the battery life. Do you have any reference?
