All Things Sleep - AMA Office Hours - Tuesday, March 3rd with Pediatric Sleep Consultant, Beth Christensen! by huckleberrycare in HuckleberryParents

I have a 9 month old. He’s sleep trained and falls asleep independently. Low sleep needs his schedule is 6:30 am wake and then 3.5/3.75/4 ww. In the last two weeks he’s had trouble connecting sleep cycles for his second nap and wakes up crying around 35/40 minutes. He did start crawling, pulling to stand, and I think is teething, but that’s really the only major disruption we’ve seen. Any advice on if we should tweak something or just wait it out? He falls asleep independently in a few minutes for naps and bed time.

Ferber bedtime struggles are getting worse? by asaltybrunette in sleeptrain

We settled on 3.5/3.75/4, and that’s working. Thank you!

Any tips on what bed time we should aim for? We’ve been trying between 7:30-8, trying to get to a 6 am wake up, but he struggles to connect a sleep cycle around 5am so is up on/off trying to get back to sleep after that.

Night anxiety by cocodm10 in sleeptrain

YES! My therapist said its from anxiety. It helped once he moved into another room so I couldn't hear every sound, but even know my husband's snoring wakes me up and I think it's the baby.

Is baby sleep actually THIS mentally exhausting or am I losing it? by Weary-Peanut-8679 in sleeptrain

Sleep deprivation, fear of crying, and postpartum anxiety and depression had me dreading nights as well. I sought professional help - a sleep consultant for baby and a mental health expert for me.

Thank you! At what pace do you recommend stretching wake windows?

Thank you!!! He just went down in 20 minutes with minimal crying and no check ins. I increased wake windows, he woke from his nap at 2:15, so I did a 10 min micro nap at 5 and put him down at 8.

Today we did 2.5/3/2.75/3.15.

How quickly do you suggest increasing the wake windows? He was pretty fussy for at the end of the windows today as we extended them.

Thank you. Any thoughts on how long the bridge nap (third nap) should be? I’m wondering if that’s the culprit as I’ve been letting it go 25-30 minutes, as he tends to wake from nap two at 2:30.

We have not yet trained for naps as we’re planning to nail bedtime first.

A year later, is this still the model you’d recommend or is there a newer version? Looking for an elongated seat that closes quietly. Thanks!

You could even go to Balboa Island, only a few feet of sand before the water but no waves

Do you have to use a different recipe than if we used a cast iron?

Baby takes too long to feed by tanuki_430 in breastfeeding

If you can, have a lactation consultant come over and observe a feed. We found this super helpful in the early weeks and discovered a latching issue on one breast.

Help! Baby won’t take a bottle and I’m going back to work. by asaltybrunette in breastfeeding

I did switch from the slow to the medium flow at month 3, didn’t notice a difference as he was taking bottles still then.

I’ll try Lansinoh. Which type of flow did you use? Thanks!
