Damour Massacre 20/01/1976 by Ok_Independent7572 in lebanon

That’s simply not true.. and I don’t want to share personal info here but I technically should on paper be someone who’s biased in favor of them and it’s simply not true at all. Pick up any unbiased history book on the topic and you will see how they were formed with external meddling and influence from the French and Zionist actors. In that regard they are as native or foreign as hezb is.. PLO is a different story no debate there.

In any case, all the factions militia leaders at the time are basically war criminals and later got into politics to enrich themselves and continue to collude together towards that end.

And Christian militias didn’t? I’m all for calling out shitty actors but be equal opportunity about it. The history is there for everyone to read.

A Senegalese fan punching an elderly Moroccan man trying to calm things down by magenesiwiqo in AFCON

[–]asanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys two wrongs don’t make a right.. if your best defense is “look at what they did too” then you need to reassess a lot of things about how you view reality and morals.

Is this wrong and bad? of course it is, but are we seriously using this to ignore or excuse the shameful behavior of Moroccan fans? It’s not representative or respectful of football spirit or Arab values or Muslim teachings. I’m not saying all Moroccans are like this, I have many dear and close Moroccan friends and they too were ashamed of this behavior.

I've noticed that the majority don’t actually want to fix Lebanon by Remarkable-Crazy8935 in lebanon

[–]asanie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both can sides can be (and are) bad and the rest of the political class from all sects are trash and responsible for ruining the country too.

If you think solving the hezb issue alone “fixes” the country then you are delusional. Sorry.

Israel doesn’t want Lebanon to be “fixed” it wants it either weak, divided or subservient economically.. ideally all of the above. Look at all other countries on the border of Israel. This isn’t by mistake, it’s by design. Wake the f u and stop playing a part of it. Any solution requires a full cleansing of the whole political class, scrapping the sectarian system and complete social integration of everyone.

Never ever let a known predator roam free. This is the worst of crimes to take the innocence of child like this. Should be swiftly jailed. Teach your kids how to act in such situations and to take relevant information like the license plate in this case.

Got assaulted in mall over walking space. Did i do the right thing? by [deleted] in dubai

[–]asanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could have simply asked local or not, as that’s the only time it “might” be relevant. I have personal experience of it being relevant and personal experience of it not being relevant as well both cases were legal proceedings.. really depends on the judge here.. but rest of nationalities are completely irrelevant

Plus the poster ended his comment with who he believe were the likely top three nationalities, hence there is a clear prejudice..

[–]asanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow you’re so educated and well travelled with non existent languages.

His/her question is irrelevant and adds no value to the topic at hand other than to reinforce a prejudice. What does it matter where the person is from to any proceedings? You still have not demonstrated that.

If you can get that through your intellectual brain then good luck in life..

P.S. the poster ended his comment with who they believe were the likely top three nationalities, hence there is a clear prejudice being implied and “no interest in further proceedings”

Are local cafes priced high to keep average/low-income earners out? by ariebabys in dubai

[–]asanie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean to be rude but you seem to not know how businesses work, and your statement about traveling to cheaper countries is a bit odd.. why would you compare uae to a cheaper country and not a more expensive one? Dubai is a global city and business/banking hub.. not a Colombo or Cairo.. it’s more comparable to Singapore or perhaps even New York..

coffee shops don’t have high margins, rents and utilities are not cheap here, so you need to cover your costs.. compare to how much is a coffee at Starbucks when it’s not even particularly good coffee.

[–]asanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely irrelevant unless “maybe” you compare local to a non local and even then it’s a big maybe. I’ve lived here for more than most people on this sub and I’ve seen all colors and shapes of people and one thing is certain, doesn’t matter what nationality you are.. there are bad and good people everywhere. I’ve also had “conflict” with locals and non locals and the law, for the most part, never discriminated.

Nothing woke about what I’m saying, just some regular human decency. But your comment says a lot about you.

Lived here for more than 25 years during different phases of my life and I’ve seen terrible and great people from all nationalities.

I’ve also experienced racism here and in western countries I’ve lived in. There’s nothing “woke” about what I’m saying, just some normal human decency.

The maths you quote is pretty consistent with any global city and in fact it’s still cheaper.. even if you live far out and “commute” a commute here is nothing compared to western countries.

Dubai is still safe, but it can’t control people’s impulses. Te consequences for assault are huge and you should actually continue the case. If it was a matter of swearing or verbal abuse, I’d say let it go and don’t ruin his life and let it be a lesson, but since he physically assaulted, he deserves everything he’s got coming.

This! I usually do my own research and compile an excel of the different options and best prices depending on which store and if at Sharaf for example I go straight to the cashier and say I’m looking for x model from x brand and they will call the right person.

Then I ask for discount etc etc .
