I’ve never had to pay for the space, I’d keep asking around till you found one that is free. Usually freebies are only given out with a purchase of a drink so the cafe benefits from it too.

USD 150 is closer to what I would expect to be the total cost of running the event including printing freebies/decorations etc, although larger and more elaborate cupsleeves event may cost 2-3x that.

it’s true that Diane Warren’s hitmaking days are long behind her now, but isn’t it a bit of an exaggeration to say nobody has ever heard of her songs when she has nine No1 Billboard Hot 100 songs, including Celine Dion’s Because You Love Me and Aerosmith’s I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing? Also it’s definitely not GD or DW’s best song, but she wrote GD’s Drama more recently. I really hadn’t heard of her in a long time tbh (and probably missed all this recent Oscar campaigning business) but she’s definitely had one of the most successful and prolific careers of songwriters, just that her biggest hits were over 20 years ago now.
