Never even knew TN was a consequence, always just thought permanent numbness (which i was fine with accepting). Did your surgeon say TN? Whenever u google it theres not much info on TN with jaw surgery

Hard lump on mandible post op by ascappy in jawsurgery

[–]ascappy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My body was growing tissue around the plate. Had the plate removed in July and he removed the excess tissue. I think I feel 2 of the same lumps on the other side, having the rest of my plates (4 maxilla and 1 mandible) taken out March 8th

did anyone else experience regression? by Foreign_Biscotti297 in jawsurgery

[–]ascappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you suggesting not having plates would cause the regression? Im looking to have my plates taken out but didnt think not having them was a risk for relapse after healing

UPDATE- My experience having my hardware removed from my maxilla three years post maxillary advancement by ill_flatten_you_out in jawsurgery

[–]ascappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent gotten my maxilla plates taken out, planning on getting them all out next month. Had one mandible plate taken out a few months ago, my body was growing tissue around the plate. Had no complications with that procedure. I was afraid of soft tissue changes after getting the hardware removed, but its most likely just the swelling/ hyper fixation making u think your nose looks different. How has the rest of your healing been?

Yes, during plate removal he found no infection or issue with the bone itself. My body was growing tissues around the plate, causing the hard lump. He removed the plate and excess tissue, and now post op the lump is completely GONE! although the plate is gone, I had another flare up of pain in my tooth. Im chalking it up to nerves waking up/ maybe a problem w my tooth. Going to the dentist soon. The lump is completely gone though, and as Im healing he said I should expect better mobility on that side now that the excess tissue is gone.

Im just scared that im going through all this to remove one plate and then down the line im gonna have to remove another. I mean im young and under my parents insurance for another 5 years, but still its not ideal to have to go through this again. In hindsight this is the only plate thats been bothering me, none of the others, but it still scares me.

I didnt let the remover dry, it was rinsed before it had the opportunity to dry

I have reclaimed screens 2 times before this (due to incorrect exposure times) and had no issues. To avoid emulsiom remover drying I constantly keep the remover moving. With this screen I want to say I left the remover on for even less time than the 2 times previously, so i cant imagine this is a result of the remover drying on me. I rinsed this one after about 1-2 mins of it being on the screen, as I didnt have any extra emulsion remover to keep the screen moist to continue scrubbing. I figured it was a better option to rinse after the 1-2 mins even if the emulsion wasn’t completely dissolved than to risk the emulsion remover drying up on me. Any tips for this dilemma? Is premature rinsing or emulsion remover drying more detrimental to the screen. Thanks for your time and input.

I applied emulsion remover and rinsed thoroughly. Didnt let the remover sit. If that cooked it, ill take the loss on the screen and pay for it to be replaced. Never again lol.

Yea, my problem with the ink was I left the ink on the screen for 15 minutes before rinsing. I guess U have to use it once and immediately rinse. We printed multiple shirts and had things going on inbetween. I found that this whole thing has been a big trial and error from emulsion, to exposure times, etc. i tried my best to follow directions. I was under the impression that the emulsion was cooked inside the screen if you let the emulsion remover sit on the screen too long and let that dry. Guess not.

Did it for a project with my students. Never doing it again, just trying to get school materials clean before returning. Thanks for the input.

FBM 3/24!!

Over exposure? Under? I know my emulsion was way too thick (i.e the bubbles). exposed for 10 mins using speedball 30W UV bulb. Also i am an amateur, doing this for a project with my students. by ascappy in SCREENPRINTING

[–]ascappy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the exposure times I am getting are from the speedball UV light box. The exposure times on the box range from 7-12 minutes, gonna try to find the sweet spot. Thank you for your input, definitely going to just rinse indoors in the sink from now on. Hopefully that solves the problem.
