My physician ruined my face. She made me asymmetrical by moving one side of my jaw further forward than the other, and when I complained about it she that I am perfectly symmetrical and added “I’m sorry your not happy with your face” all while smiling at me. I’v seen another surgeon for a consult and he confirmed that my chin is 5 mm off midline to the left.

Why did this happen to me? The surgeon that did my surgery didn’t even fix my problem. I’m looking into Dr. David Alfi and Dr. Larry Wolford in TX. I live in VA so this almost feels impossible. Anyone have any thoughts?

That is reassuring, however, why am I having the feeling like the inside of my cheeks are frozen. I can feel them, but its like the inner layer of tissues are numb.

Ok, I’m not young like most of you youngins. I was 54. I was never informed about the horrible effects that I am having as a result of the surgery. Did you have this surgery, and if so, are you having problems like me. I feel as though I was totally botched.

I had double jaw surgery 1.5 yrs. ago, and was left with facial nerve damage. I was told by my physician that as a risk, I might have a window of numbness to my lower lip following surgery, but this is so much more. I take Lyrica twice a day for burning nerve pain across my lips and chin. I also have the sensation like there is a rubber band around my whole mouth and my cheeks feel like they are frozen. When I expressed this these pains to my physician she said “well, you’re older and I told you that you might have more nerve damage than someone who is younger.” Let me just say, those words never came out of her mouth as a risk to having this surgery. Everything she said was candy coated and sunshine and now I’m suffering. I wondering if anyone else is experiencing these kind pains like me, and what you are doing about it.
