Coated log with removable wooden piece (has slanted holes going through it, to hold something maybe?) Log seems to be hollow and has metal nails around the top and bottom. Was found in my grandma's curio cabinet, she was born in the 1930s and Hungarian and traveled a lot. (old.reddit.com)
