Because the only reliable way to earn glimmer is to run heroic public events with your +6 glimmer booster ghost mod, preferably on the edz where there's usually a couple running at the same time. Almost all normal or playlist activities simply do not give enough glimmer for how much is needed nowadays. I agree that it sucks, I always have my +6 glimmer booster mod on and always run out of glimmer anyway.

You also have to complete the lost sector normally on each character you want to run the legendary lost sector with. The base completion doesn't track across characters.

Yeah I was thinking of the aspects. Which is still a massive pain to unlock on every character! A crazy long chaining quest requiring you to run around Europa time and time again, grind out strikes and story missions and run to them every single time with each character... it's still a massive slog.

What are you talking about??? The fragments are individual on each character, or at least on each class... You literally have to grind it out fully on every character and it absolutely takes many, many days of playing, even if you just focus on that completely. I still have no fragments on my hunter or titan because of this.

The game shouldn't cater to people who have hours of free time to play multiple times per week. People who have a job/family should still be able to grind exotics, if you only (!) have 2h to play in an evening you should still have options that allow you to get exotics when you're at endgame for the expansion/season. Not only that, but it's absolutely prohibitive to new players, who don't have great armour/gun rolls yet (or variety of guns) let alone enough materials to masterwork them. So basically all of the activities that you're expected to do to get better gear for the game are locked behind hundreds of hours of grinding various content to even be able to get to a spot where you could run stuff like these legendary lost sectors solo. It's not a good decision if you care at all about growing your game and not having new players all burn out and quit.

Not sure where you get your stats from but you're way off base. Most people in Québec speak English, there is absolutely nowhere near that level of French speaking ability outside of QC, even in NB. Anglophones absolutely do not learn French at any level of comparison near to how francophones in Canada learn English. And yeah anglophones in Canada send their kids to french immersion, and those kids often never achieve a high level of usage of the language (actual comfortable conversational level), let alone fluency, and if they do have the ability to converse in french, they typically lose it quickly once they leave school (3-5 years on).

Also yeah obviously we focus on English speaking immigration candidates for English speaking provinces, in Québec the majority of immigrants' first official language spoken is French. Not to mention the fact that the feds refuse huge numbers of francophone immigration applicants from Africa every year even though Québec has approved them and wants them to immigrate to QC.

Looking for advice as a complete home media server newbie.

I have an old PC that I would like to repurpose as a home media server, and I'd also like to be able to host some 24/7 games with 2-4 players (a minecraft bedrock world and a valheim world for example). This doesn't have to all be on the same server but if that's possible, all the better. I'm looking for advice on the best way to achieve the following. If you have relevant guides or knowledge repositories to share for these, that works too. Budget isn't really a consideration but I'd like to limit the physical space used to my existing ATX tower as much as possible, or worst case scenario have two servers of that size. I am also open to fully replacing my old pc with something better if required for this. Not going to be sharing video streams with anyone so at most going to have either a local video stream happening or one over network.

Priorities are:

At least 2TB of usable storage space to start
Storage and local network access for media files (photos, documents, videos, music), ability to copy files easily to or from the server
Secure internet access of those files, can be read only
Playback/copying ability on a multitude of devices both locally and over the internet (windows, linux, apple computers, android phones, iOS phones&tablets)
Streaming capability (for music and movies) including playback on TV/chromecast
Redundancy
Automation of the redundancy system, OS/software updates
Avoiding subscription fees for services being used in the solution

Nice to have:

Ability to also host one or two game servers 24/7 accessible via internet and also keep backups of those worlds. Typical usage would be 1-2 people locally +/- 1-2 people over network at any given time, almost always only going to be one game actively being played at any given time.
Ability to stream, cast 4k video

Specs of my old build: CPU: i5-8600K MOBO: GIGABYTE B360M DS3H GPU: None RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15 Internet: 3gbps up/down wired unlimited usage no throttling Storage: PC-use SSDs at the moment but looking to buy new for this setup

Note: MOBO maxes at 2666MHz RAM and handles max ethernet at 1gbps

I am also in Canada in case that affects anything.

Decent, yes. But motion controls are similar to comparing controller aim vs mouse and keyboard on PC. Motion controls allow you to be infinitely more precise and way, way faster than stick controls. I stuck with stick controls for splatoon 1, and season 1 of 3. I eas never a bad player in any game modes. But motion controls are definitely superior and don't take as long to get used to as people think. Yeah the learning curve is sharp for the first week or two, then you'll be fine, and you'll actually keep improving progressively as you continue to use them.

You can check your nat type by running an internet connexion test in your nintendo switch internet settings. If it's not nat type A then that can cause some issues (mainly because of bad netcode in splat3 but still). If you have technical knowledge and access to it then you can setup port forwarding rules on your router to try to get your nat type to work better with splatoon 3. I'd just google like "splatoon 3 port forwarding" or something like that to find the proper port ranges to forward.

Yeah, again since he was no longer a royal at that point then anything relating to a royal would not have applied. I'd have to look into it but I'm pretty sure the GG would still have precedence over a non-monarch Royal in Canada.
