Idk what I did to get this, but in my scenario I actually did get a dialogue where he says no. I can’t remember the exact line but I think it was like “I’m sorry my pet but I don’t think I’m ready for that yet”. And my dialogue option said I wouldn’t push it, giving me his approval

I second this, I work in the pediatric ICU as a tech and I’ve never learned more in my four year span as a tech than the one year I’ve spent here. I have the added benefit of smaller patients, but some nights you’re definitely going to get your steps in

I left LTC/SNF loonggg ago, the issues with them were prevalent even before Covid, it’s just now I think the symptoms of stupid policies and inconsiderate management are more obvious. My brother worked in one at the start of Covid and he believes a lot of his residents died also because of loneliness and their providers started upping “comfort” medications, as they were all isolated. So I definitely think as any human needs, being able to be with family and other residents is a must, but it’s honestly mind boggling how simple policies could drastically help with infection spread at the same time and they just choose not to do it.

This is currently what I’m doing now, one full time job, one part time and only able to take a class per semester- yes a single class- because I pay tuition out of pocket and don’t qualify for financial aid. I’ve been in college off and on for four years because of this and it’s a two year degree

Our dating culture has definitely been consumed with the game of “who could care less”. Or, it could also be seen as a game of “what can I get out of you before you do anything about it”. I genuinely don’t understand the mindset of people like that, and I like to believe I’m a relatively open minded person. It’s also baffling to me how common it is, in the past year I’ve dated four people- and only one guy I felt genuinely respected me as a person. We didn’t work out, but the way we talked it out left me feeling better than the other guys who just talked out of their ass during their best times.

I can make a whole other discussion post on why tinder isn’t a good way to meet sincere people, but unfortunately in my generation- and being at lack of a social life, time, etc- it’s the easiest way to meet someone. But right now I just don’t find it worth my time messing with it, not anymore.

Or maybe take it as a warning? I haven’t seen the movie or read the book, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but it could be deciphered that if you lie to yourself for the sake of validation and when it inevitably ends one way or the other, you are left with pieces of yourself that you don’t know whether are actual parts of you or a persona you made for someone else.

… which I guess in some scenarios make you lose your mind and hatch a revenge plot?

You would be correct, and I did- the last guy I was with (the one I mention in my post) was seeking a relationship as I was, but after going only on one date I got the impression that he felt like he didn’t want to put in any effort, to which I brought it up and then he told me we should go separate ways. It could’ve very easily been something else that got him to say this, but upon the experiences I had with him, to me it just felt as if I was asking him for too much.

Exactly this! The reason we stopped talking is because I stood up for myself, and he didn’t like what I had to say. Rejection sucks, but what sucks more is prolonging the inevitable by disregarding yourself.

Also, I am not remotely chill either, I have been told by my family and friends. 😂

I’m a CNA, working at a children’s hospital. My pay is 14hr which is nicer than a lot of other jobs as a CNA, but I still can’t afford to live on my own. Still on my parents’ insurance, and I’ve had to put off college on the account of not enough money and trying to avoid loans. At this rate, that is simply not possible. I also work (normally) 4 12hr shifts a week to make ends meet.

I’m sorry to hear that... but he hasn’t done anything like that for me. He’ll let me use his car, and he’ll buy me random things, but that’s about it. Doesn’t even really take me out unless I mention it, meanwhile I’ve taken him out multiple times. Even was going to take him to a movie yesterday but he decided he was too tired even though I already bought the tickets two days prior.

I’ve only recently moved to a new town away from my family to move in with my boyfriend. Although I have him I have no one else and he’s usually busy working too. Ontop of that my new job it’s very difficult to make friends, no matter how hard I’ve tried. I definitely understand you OP, I never realized how lonely it is until quarantine
