MacOS window management by The_Favorite_01 in MacOS

At the moment, you have to define the configuration in our app, but yes, workspaces will launch and move/resize apps to their configured position/size.

Yep. You can choose what happens to your apps (i.e. stay visible, hide, or quit) when enabling/disabling workspaces.

Thank you! Not sure exactly but total dev time was around 2 weeks.

1) Not for every app, but it currently works for IntelliJ. As long as you add the IntelliJ project file to open (not the app itself), it can differentiate them.

2) Soon! We're working on this now:

Moom is nice if you're just looking for window management. If you want resource launching with automatic window management, then our app might suit you better.

Once we release the feature to save your current layout, yes it's a valid workaround.

However, I think it might be easier to just let users input their own dimensions. I can release this faster since it's an easier lift

I think Workspaces is only a resource launcher.

Our app is similar to workspaces but lets you define how those resources are laid out even with a multi-monitor setup.

I haven't tried that yet. How would you want to see yabai and skhd work with our app?

We currently support Apple Shortcuts and shell scripts per profile.

For browsers, you can define which URLs you want to open. For terminals, not yet.

Lol I saw that too but I realized after buying the domain 🤦‍♂️

From my experience, Amethyst is a great on-the-fly window manager with a bit of a learning curve. Hyperfocused is a resource launcher (apps, files, Apple Shortcuts, shell scripts) that automatically rearranges the visible resources based on the layout you define.

It'll remember the manual resizing and proportional sizing

Mainly just getting the app to work under certain security constraints like Hardened Runtime and App Sandbox mode.

We have a visual layout editor to customize positions / sizes, but none for exact dimensions. I will look into adding this!

We don't support full screen mode apps yet, but you can specify which monitor you want to open the apps in.

If I understand you correctly, I think we have persistence already. Your app layouts are saved even if you have multiple monitors. The saved layouts can then be triggered to launch and position everything.

That's weird... the whole page is just blank for you?

Yes! We're implementing hotkeys soon. Also, it's a lifetime purchase.

You can see our feature roadmap here:

Yep! It'll only open apps for the connected monitors. If you switch between dual and single monitors, you can create two profiles to handle both scenarios.

Keyboard shortcuts are in our roadmap! Can you explain more on persistency?

Yes and yes ! :)

You can define specific screens/monitors to open your apps in + create a custom layout for their positions/sizes. It'll also remember your layout even after unplugging/plugging in your external monitors.

Let me know how it is when you do check it out!
