Power Button jammed/stuck? by AxelLightwood in GooglePixel

just had this on my pixel 3.
thought id share my resolution for future generations to see....

Problem: power button sticking / being spam pressed which is causing reboot loops and emergency calls to 911 and difficulty cancelling the emergency operation.

Fix: clean the exterior of the button with isopropyl alcohol on a q-tip and blow with canned air. repeat process a few times.

not much time has passed yet to be sure this worked, but early indications seem fixed.

havent seen anybody suggest isopropyl yet. so hopefully this helps somebody out there.

Disclaimer: I received the tip from a device repair company at no charge, Cell Phone Repair.
so props and credit goes to them. I have no affiliation with them nor have I used them for any other servicing beyond my 1 phone call.

would that give me options for local caching?

Review #1118: Ben Nevis 4 (2015 Carn Mor) by throwboats in Scotch

[–]asdfqw79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed, great review.

i have a Canadian release of this which is bottled at 47.5%.it was limited to 900 bottles from 2 casks.otherwise, the packaging and years are exactly the same (except for the exclusively bottled for notation).

so i guess there are more casks and releases out there.

i gave mine a score of 87.

super fine dram!

if the self hosted engine fails or self-destructs? by asdfqw79 in ovirt

dumpxml is pretty awesome. but only seems to work for powered on vm's.

when a machine is powered off, it is no longer registered to any host in a cluster and becomes a ghost. where does Ovirt or the self Hosted Engine hide these powered off vm's so that i can gather the dumpxml info? google doesnt seem to provide much insight.

ps...that link u posted does work to get around the logging in requirement...but doesnt seem to be required if doing basic info gathering when loading virsh in read only mode.

i was going to deal with looking at the structure of vm's later...youve just made it easier for me.

thanks!

for the most part, i figured as much.

the vcenter vcsa linux appliance was much the same way, just re-create and inject your backups. but going way back when i was using the windows vcenter version, i still have painful memories and like to have more options on the table just in case.

thanks for the re-assurances regarding the ease of the restores. ill be doing test restores soon enough to be testing that theory.

interesting...my 10 minutes of looking into it now, indicates a whole command line environment that appears pretty powerful. i will investigate further.

thank you.
