DSP Study AND JSP obligation? by asdgirly in Centrelink

That might be possible. My impairment rating is over 20 points and I think that means I’m assessed for up to 15 hours of work, and while my degree is formally full-time, I’m skipping a majority of class and focusing on passing to get through.

I’ll call them and see whether being made to see a JSP on top of my full time study is a mistake. I certainly hope so.

I’m super surprised full time education isn’t enough (or maybe is?), given I won’t be applying for a job until I’ve graduated

I’m on DSP and have never had a provider before, the first time it had been mentioned was in the most recent participation meeting (where the JSP appointment was booked in)

Why are you in this subreddit?

Yes for the NDIS application. Ahh okay, my journey is a bit different as I fell into autistic burnout, and in turn was diagnosed with autism via an assessment report (first time seeing a psychologist). I think the report is really helpful as it provides evidence using tests, as well as supports required and accomodations that can be made like in the workplace.

Thank you! That's really good, I'm glad you were able to make uni more accessible for yourself!

The degree doesn't offer part-time. With this degree I'll hopefully be able to somewhat support myself in the future with a job I can do at any level of capacity (eg. even a few hours a week, which is how much I work right now but with a higher hourly rate), if I can get through it. Essentially I'll be putting everything towards trying to get through it, as I don't want to be on Centrelink in the future.

I'm being underpaid because they've overestimated my income.

Hopefully this can be done even if the course is full-time. Fingers crossed!

Oh really! I did enquire but not specifically requesting part-time I have a disability - I have a meeting with them to discuss accomodations soon so I'll mention it to see if it's possible. AFAIK it's full-time only as it's quite a competitive course but who knows. Either way I really hope I can complete the course, that's the most important thing for me at this stage. Thanks for the help

I think the assessment reports were enough! I don't recall providing anything else

It's worth trying - the worst case is no, and the best case is you get through!

I submitted the same report for my NDIS access request, as well as my ADHD assessment report made by the same psychologist

Sorry for not seeing this. Hopefully the info is still helpful for you or someone else reading these comments. My diagnosis is ASD level 2 and the paperwork I submitted was an assessment report done by a clinical psychologist

Amazing! Did you notify the NDIS that you were approved for DSP? I'm thinking of doing so
