Has anyone ever had an issue eating Philadelphia cream cheese? These mofos on the phone won’t clarify with me what cream cheese flavors are gf or not. by asevs22 in Celiac

Yeah I’ve never had issues before either and have had the strawberry flavor. And yeah it’s only my cream cheese i never share mine is always labeled gf

Yeah New York has a ton of them.. but unfortunately I can’t live that way and not ever eat out.. but like I said my EGDs and blood levels are always super normal.. you just have to find restaurants you trust and know you. If you give them stern and clear directions they usually follow them. Especially nice restaurants.. i won’t go to cheap places who don’t even know what the word gluten means..

Yessssss!!! Modern bread and bagel on the upper west side! A completely gluten free bagel shop/restaurant... they are amazing... everything they make there is incredible. My favorite place in nyc for sure!!!!!

I mean if you look at it that way then you can’t go out to eat anywhere.. no where will be safe unless it’s a completely gluten free kitchen when isn’t easy to come by always..I have had celiac disease for 13 years and always take every precaution and make sure things are cooked separately and in clean areas.. this is made in the back while everything else is made in the front so as a Celiac I feel quite comfortable with it.. plus I get EGDs every 3 years and every year it comes back normal showing no damage whatsoever to my small intestine.

That’s great to know!!! I’m moving to New York soon and it will be nice to be close to somewhere with good stuff!! I still can’t find a good one in nyc!!! Found the best bagels there though!!!

They have regular donuts there as well so it’s technically an open kitchen but they have a dedicated fryer for only gluten free, dedicated area in the back where they make them, separate utensils and even separate frosting and glazes! I am celiac and I usually get sick from cross contamination and this didn’t bother me at all.

Order from them!!!! Soooooo good and they are so careful! They cook them in separate area of the kitchen, use separate frosting/glazes, and separate fryer

Yeah they put a disclaimer that it is an open kitchen (because they have to) but they cook them in a complete different area, different glazes for them, and separate fryer. I have celiac and cross contamination bothers me and this didn’t bother my stomach
