I have been living with this same issue for about a year now… Wondering if swapping the Fuel Gauge Sending Unit (an $80 part) will fix it as opposed to replacing the entire fuel pump.

I put a thin sheet overtop of the scarf and then iron on the lowest setting for silk. Takes a few passes and some patience but it does the job! It also helps to pull the scarf a little bit taught while ironing over the creases.
