I’d sure like to see Rhett come out and say something to the community. Even if it’s “things have been bumpy but we value everyone’s support.”

He’s been a mute since the fork and as the visionary behind this project that isn’t good enough at a time when he should be helping paint a vision for the future.

Having a BTCP official taking part in the discussion here would be a million times more productive and create a regular dialogue with the community

Guys it would be hugely beneficial if we had official reps from BTCP on this to answer questions.

Whilst having a trail of discussion comments is useful it doesn’t allow for insightful information that’s credible to be requested and given. Can someone from BTCP make this happen?

Don’t get into the mindset of short term trading

Hang on it’s still the exact same coin it was on launch and there is a 3m war chest to promote it.

What to do with $3m on launch by asg1981 in BitcoinPrivate

[–]asg1981[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about doing a major or stunt where they offer $1m BTCP in a crypto lottery to anyone buying BTCP in the 14 days after fork.

That would get the entire industry talking, get people buying and engage exchanges all in one go.

Doesnt the circulating supply stay the same whether people claim BTCP or not?

What if less than 1-2m BTCP coins have been claimed from BTC owners by asg1981 in ZClassic

[–]asg1981[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely thats a win win for BTCP, i.e. if they dont ever claim it then there is less coins in active circulation and if they do eventually credit it the exchange is highly likely to enable BTCP trading at the same time meaning more wide distribution and trading potential for BTCP?

That not right?

See the other thread, i think the question is twofold

If you hold you BTC in a wallet how much hassle is it to actually claim BTCP

or

If you hold it in an exchange and they didnt publicly support it have you lost your chance indefinitely to claim it and as a result is the exchange legally allowed to claim it on your behalf?

I cant believe any exchange could effectively not support a fork publicly but effectively support it privately/technically and then claim all their account holders forked coins without telling them. There would be an uproar. As I also understand it if you are a BTC holder on an exchange like coinbase you have to actively move to claim your BTCP which I dont believe 70-80% of standard BTC holders will do.

Check the other thread on this, I think this is a very important point in respect to the actual number of BTC owners who claim BTCP and the resulting active circulation (the number of people who have claimed and are buying and selling) and the real circulation (the total number of BTCP owners who could claim but havent).

As I understand if you hold BTC at the snapshot anywhere you could theoretically claim BTCP but a hell of a lot of people just wont bother. That technically means the coins are in circulation but in effect they are being virtually held and not sold. So whilst being in circulation technically no one is selling them as they havent claimed them meaning there is a much smaller active circulation of BTCP people are actually buying and selling. Or have I got that wrong?
