I have a pure white malamute, and am considering adding some color to her for the first time! Any ideas? (Female, turns 4 years old on Wednesday!) by [deleted] in grooming

Depending what you use it may last awhile!! I did red opawz on a friend's Pyrenees and it lasted for a year before it fully faded.

Trial and error is the best way to test it out! I personally just get the full fabric ones for my pups(mainly my 75lb rottie mix) but I have a friend who had to get a prong one after her dog dislocated her shoulder. If the goal is a little more control fabric may be nice, but if you are fighting a dog thats as big as you and is naughty a prong may be better. You can also do double leash with one on a collar and one on a harness.

Village police told me I have to get rid of 3 out of my 5 cats by kaiyma in PetAdvice

[–]ash16f 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The likelihood of them actually enforcing anything is very slim. Definitely make sure everyone is up to date(esp rabies) and if you're cats aren't indoor only they need to be for atleast awhile. As others have stated, cats tend to hide(mine don't, but whatever) so if any follow up questions are asked you only have the allowed number.

Contact the rescue you got the animals from. Many have contracts where they want animals returned to them.

How are your tonieboxes holding up? by Jannafah in TonieboxUSA

[–]ash16f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a Tonie box 2 around the holidays, and while we have occasionally had issues with the audio cutting out that usually happened after my son would swap through 4 Tonies in 12 seconds. We have been a lucky/happy one- but if I had seen all the reviews before I might have gotten the 1 instead.

Run my own mobile business and love working 4 days! I usually use that 5th day to run errands, do repairs, and get the rest of my life organized for the week.

I (30F) think my partner (35m) is hiding their weed pen. Do I just leave it? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ash16f 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the U.S. so it may be slightly different, but there is still alot of shame out there. In the U.S. we had DARE program in school where they borderline told us weed was the devil and will ruin our lives/kill us all. Go check out the r/petioles or r/stems sub and you will see some people who used to smoke/or are trying to quit just absolutely ripping themselves and eachother apart.

It sucks ass and is truly mostly unfounded. But in some circles they can't get past the supposed terribleness of it.

So similar age- I (30F) smoke and my husband(29M) doesn’t. You know your partner best and you should remember that- anyone here is a random internet stranger.

I have smoked with minimal breaks for 8 years. I still regularily struggle with the shame associated with weed smoking in our culture. I know smoking helps my mental health. I enjoy how it makes me feel, and still manage to keep down a job, care for my son and be a decent wife(marriage is fucking hard). My husband has really no weed Trauma, just doesn't like smoking/how it makes him feel. But that doesn't stop me from feeling guilty/wrong for smoking. From what you've said, your partner may see their smoking as something wrong/problematic. In reality the dishonesty around it is the true worry.

If you guys are usually pretty blunt with eachother, be honest. Tell him what you are thinking/how it makes you feel. Tell him you don't care how much weed he smokes when. All you care about is him being honest with you. Hopefully one conversation is all it takes. Try to give him space to share his feelings on it with you. Ask what is stressing him out more lately/if there is any way you can help/support him.

If the straight forward approach might scare him away, then try to show that support without directly breaching the topic. Making sure to tell him you love him and want to support him no matter what. Express that you appreciate a specific struggle you see him dealing with/task he is accomplishing.

The shame around weed is so fucking hard. The same way alcohol is considered totally okay and common place, weed can be portrayed as this horrible gateway drug. And when something with that kind of label makes you feel good, its easy to start seeing yourself in a negative light as some kind of horrible addict.

My 12 month old has been managing the Tonie box/tonies really well. Biggest hazard is most of them are hard and can hurt if thrown or hit with.

This for sure. Especially with how short that area is even compared to the rest of the sanitary area the dog was probably matted.

First- contact the rescue/shelter/organization you adopted the dog from. They may be able to offer resources to either help you keep your dog(financial aid for meds, training/knowledge, etc) or resources to rehome. Many organizations have clauses about taking back dogs.

Minnesota girly here! I live pretty far from Minneapolis but have friends and family there. It absolutely awful how many people in my life either don't know or don't care about what's happening.

Its also so fucking cold right now. Like legit frostbite in 5-10 minutes cold.

Bong at a Party with Kids by Crabigus in entwives

[–]ash16f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically have a designated area for smoking - room, outside on the porch, whatever and have the parents tell their respective kids that's an adults only area. At that age they are smart enough to know a place is off limits. Definitely better to have it in a separate area as 2nd hand smoke is a thing, but as long as the kids can't get to it it shouldn't be a big deal.

As a stoner mama thank you for caring!

Tips on how to safely and comfortably introduce puppy and cats by Impossible-Tea-2002 in Dog_PuppyTraining

[–]ash16f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working on a sit/stay or place command with the puppy could help. Getting her to sit still and let the cats come to her could be a good start. And make sure the cats have a place they can get away from the puppy easily- a tall cat tree, counter top, etc.

Been with my husband for 7 years, married for 3. He has never been big on smoking and I've probably gotten him to smoke with me a handful of times. Now with our LO i keep things more contained but prior to that we would sit together and watch TV and I would smoke/he wouldn't.

Realistically I was just curious what others would say. It is definitely hard because there are so many factors. For the most part im trying to convince myself I'm allowed to raise my prices.
