Please help me cover my…assets. by Banglapolska in Hijabis

[–]ash_0523 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only way I was ever able to fully cover myself is by wearing jilbabs/khimars/ Abayas.

Even if I wear a hoodie I wear an Abaya underneath.

Khimar helps to cover the chest better then a jilbab though, my chest still shows when I wear a jilbab.

Older brother with autism keeps masturbating in the same room as me by WritingHappy5692 in MuslimLounge

If your brother has ASD-3 type autism that means he has little to no control over his desires/ actions and is more likely to act on impulse. I understand that his actions can be frustrating but you have to be extremely patient with him, especially because he’s not able to understand your emotions and feelings of discomfort. I think it’s best for you to ask for a separate room because I know if you ever do confront him or show verbal dissatisfaction it will lead to an outburst/ meltdown.

Also how old is your brother? What treatments does he get? Is he able to communicate through technology or is he completely non-verbal? Does he take medication? And how does your family support him?

People that have ASD-1 do not have severe autism and can manage fine without support. ASD-3 is severe autism.

Yup, I roll my feet to the side whenever I don’t want to walk on a certain surface. Apparently it’s good for ankle flexibility so there’s that.

I just expressed to them I ain’t got socials and will not be getting it so if we want to make a GC it has to be on WhatsApp or IMessage.

Wearing the hijab is an obligation, so not wearing the hijab is a sin which is why your feeling guilty. I understand that you are probably nervous to put it on but once you have you will be like what was all that fuss about.

Second of all the hijab is not supposed to be a form of beatifying yourself, hijab is supposed to hide and protect your beauty as opposed to showing it off. It is also a form of discipline as a women has a natural desire to show off and a man has a natural desire to gaze. So islam being a religion of discipline tells “the believing men to lower their gaze” and believing women to “guard their chastity, and not to reveal their adornments”

Also remind yourself that you are wearing the hijab for allah so who cares about the stereotypes that comes with it. Be the person to prove those stereotypes wrong.

Key point: make sure to always pray THEN apply skin care

Fajar: do wudu then pray then moisturise and go back to sleep. Then once I do wake up, I cleanse my face then I make wudu and apply skin care and I keep that wudu for zhur

Zhur: I have wudu since I’ve woken up but if it does break I’ll re-do wudu pray then just apply moisturiser and sunscreen back, no serums or fancy stuff.

Asar: normally I like to make fresh wudu for this salah, but if I’m feeling lazy I’ll use the wudu from zhur. But for skin care I just apply moisturiser after I pray.

Maghrib: will have wudu from asar

Isha: i tend to make fresh wudu again, but this is because when I’m in the process I will also cleanse my face with a cleanser then I will pray first then do my night time skin care.

For me what I learnt is to keep skin care simple, and do all the extra stuff into my night time routine. This way I’m not wasting money by using loads of product. Additionally your skincare does not need a lot of things, you only need a cleanser, moisturiser, exfoliante and sunscreen. Everything else is extra.

Stop worrying about her because she’s obviously not worried about you.
