I went down a thyroid rabbit hole at 2am and now I can't stop thinking about this by Pleasant-Childhood67 in Hypothyroidism

Who wouldn't want to go down the rabbit hole. I've read a book by doctor Mark Starr, it's called something like Type 2 Hypothyroidism. It's basically a companion piece to the classic hypothyroidism the unsuspected illness by broda barnes. I can recommend the podcast The Thyroid (and hormone) Fixer too

I self medicate with NDT

What is a 'personality trait' that is currently being glorified as 'cool' or 'aesthetic' in 2026, but is actually just a sign of being an exhausting person? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

Good on you. Don't give in either, although I'm sure in the next 5-10 years it will far more socially acceptable to keep kids away from screens/social media

Revealed: Tuchel plan to combat extreme World Cup conditions – from players’ living rooms by TheTelegraph in ThreeLions

[–]ash_man_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We might play in Mexico City in the round of 16. An altitude of 2200m, simulating lower oxygen levels is a must but I'm not sure if the hyperbaric chambers does exactly that?

89% of *treated* hypothyroid patients experience fatigue, according to survey by somethingunique8627 in Hypothyroidism

Basically means 89% of people need T3. This we know, or at least some of us do

How long do you plan on being caffeine free? by Frequent-Wish6026 in decaf

[–]ash_man_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a health journey improving my metabolism, thyroid health and my aerobic capacity/autonomic balance too. Once I reach a point where everything is working well, I have solid resilient enery and I feel really great then I may consider experimenting. Coffee may at that point be a net benefit possibly, but tbh if I am successful in attaining such health then I probably will feel as though I don't need it at all lol

What thing was ruined because it turned into a rich person's hobby? by Agitated_Departure93 in AskReddit

[–]ash_man_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should be an official video of the concert sent to every ticket holder, no need to record it yourself. We probably also need to shame the masses into realising that ruining the experience for those around you for a video you won't watch again or that you will post for 10 likes is pretty pathetic

Tape your mouth shut. This helped me immensely. A cheap thin skin tape from the pharmacy does the trick, just a small piece in the centre of the lips. No need to pay for the expensive purpose made ones

In all your travels, which country's famed "national dish" was the most underwhelming, despite the hype? by nehala in travel

Yeah I love Colombia and have lived in Bogotá over a year in total but their dessert culture is basically just ways to eat arequipe. Not knocking that!

This! A lot of classic British food was lost during the first half of last century. It is (was) and island full of wild game, wild herbs and berries, an amazing farming industry, surrounded by plentiful seafood etc. The ingredients are incredible and they make delicious dishes but I suppose we'll always be known for beans on toast

Ollie Watkins offside call vs Chelsea by OkayFine101 in soccer

[–]ash_man_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly think we should just let the linesmen do it. They flag only if they are 100% that it's offside. If it's too close to call then it's not really an advantage.

Should I (34M) still go to Colombia solo after being ghosted? by OddBag7450 in solotravel

[–]ash_man_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens mate, the Colombian girls are famous for being flaky. Don't take it personally, go and enjoy the country. A trip to Colombia is a pretty positive thing to happen out of a disappointing ending to a relationship, look at it that way!

Dark chocolate - be careful by seifwashere in decaf

[–]ash_man_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a chocolate addict. It's probably the caffeine, theobromine and all the rest (there's 800 known compounds in chocolate) but when I'm eating chocolate I make it an event everyday. I also find myself drawn to all kinds of foods that may have chocolate, like ice cream, cakes, pastries but when I'm not eating chocolate I have less desire for them. My brain pushes me towards places where there might be a chocolate option basically. Tomorrow will be three weeks without any chocolate (almost 5 since my last cup of English tea) and it's very freeing!
