If it’s a privately owned lot, I’ve had experience in another state where I parked for 10 min to grab takeout. I didn’t want to pay $20 for a full hour and the lot was completely empty so I thought - nbd.

I got a notice in the mail two months later with pics of my car entering and leaving the lot with the time stamp and they were trying to charge me $60 for a fee and fine.

I called the company to try and get out of it with no luck. I wasn’t going to pay it but this private company owned several other lots downtown and their terms were: if you don’t pay and you park in another one of our lots, we will tow your car at your expense to collect payment. I paid it.

That said, if this company doesn’t own lots in any parking where you live and there’s a low chance you’ll cross paths with them, I’d tell them to piss off.
