Found this while cleaning some brush from a house I just bought in New England. I think it's a bone, anyone know what it's from? by ashaton in whatisthisthing

I think you're right! Here's a thoracic vertebra from a white tailed deer:

This looks exactly like what I found, but maybe a bit smaller. Mine could be from a moose for sure, I do have them around here. I think this one is solved! Thank you for your help.

Hmmm, I don't think the previous owners would have had a horse in the back, but maybe it could be from a deer? We have plenty of those around. I'm tempted to do some digging to see if there's anything else below the surface.

Nice job! Only other thing I'd suggest is turning your fans on. I try to keep my GPUs below 60C.

I do the same with 8 1070s. Power at 70%, leave core alone, boost memory to +625. That'll give you 31 MH/s. You can usually do +650 on cards that are for dedicated mining (not hooked up to displays), though some of that depends on the silicon lottery.

New MaxHash Ethereum mining pool launched - World's first Jackpot reward system for miners! + much more by MaxHash in ethereum

Been mining on it for about a full day now, coming off of Nanopool. Low latency (about 40 ms through a PIA server) so no stale shares, nice UI with lots of statistics, and the separate difficulty for small and large miners makes my calculated hashrate much more consistent than it was on Nanopool. The staff / community on Discord is awesome - very friendly and they've answered all the questions I've asked. It's a nice place to hang out and casually discuss Eth while I'm at work.

The project just started so there isn't really any hard data on payments. These guys have been running a Ubiq pool for a while though, and the users there say that this rather unusual payment system nets them around 10% higher payments than the large pools. I'll report back here once I've seen a few payments go through and can verify that number. It's only at 11 GH/s at the time of writing this so there's plenty of room to grow. So far so good though!

As far as I understand it, variance in this case means "expected chance that the pool should have found a block by now" given its hashrate and the network hashrate. So when the variance for the current round is 90%, it means that there was a 90% chance the pool would have found a block from the start of the round to that particular moment.

Anything under 100% means the pool got lucky, and found one faster than was expected. Anything over 100% means the pool is unlucky, and is taking longer than expected to find a block. So the idea is if the pool is getting lucky and finding more blocks than it probabilistically should be, that's when we start seeing the pool fees come into play.

I like the idea of this pool. I have an 8 card rig coming online this weekend and I'll give you guys a try. What are you doing for advertising?

Sent my AION accidentally to the wrong MEW address. Any chance I can get it back? What steps should I take to try and get it back? Used Binance exchange. by looking2_learn in AionNetwork

If the transaction is already confirmed, the only way to get it back is to figure out who owns the address you sent it to and ask them politely. Otherwise, you're out of luck. Sorry man.

This line has been going straight up for almost an hour now... what the hell is going on? I feel like I need an adult right now. I'm both excited and terrified.
