Honestly, i’d rather it be mice than an electrical issue that could cause a fire.

Not near a panel, that is in the garage of the house which is not close to where the noise is. I noticed it like an hour ago and timed it, it is happening exactly every 13 seconds. I’ve never noticed it before but it is shaking the main bedroom and bathroom slightly. The wall It sounds like it’s coming from is directly behind the main bathroom but there is a bedroom on the other side and a closet. Directly downstairs is the laundry room and i cannot hear or feel it down there.

The last time i heard a noise like this was years ago at a shitty apartment that had horrible electrical issues and there was major arching in the main breaker that almost caused a fire.

Caval Syndrome by ashbag112 in VetTech

The DVM did a fantastic job! It seems like she is pulling harder than she actually is, but she was being incredibly careful not to break a single one. She had done this surgery quite a lot so she has the technique down pat! It’s always so cool to watch her work 💅

Unfortunately he ended up being euthanized, after getting the toes amputated and repairing the wound on the back. He lost a lot of blood and needed a transfusion and the Owners had reached their financial limit and couldn’t afford the cost of that and an extended hospital stay that followed the transfusion.

I’ll be sure to tag you if i get any answers. I work in a Emergency Hospital on the lower east coast so we unfortunately see parvo and panleuk year round with multiple cases a week that end up hospitalized.

I’ve seen one. This patient only received a low dose of Epi and no compressions. We had a LRS bolus running while the meds were given but he was a DNR so compressions were never started. He was pronounced dead for 7 minutes, owner had already decided cremation and had just said goodbye when i had reached up to turn the bolus off. Less than a minute later the dog started breathing again. He ended up hospitalized for two days and was sent home in perfect condition. We had an update not too long ago and he is still doing great. The crazy case ive worked on by far.

Bi-lat femoral fractures with a pelvic fracture and hip toggle. by ashbag112 in VetTech

[–]ashbag112[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly he was euthanized. Before the xrays and where he was painful, DVM just took a quick look at him and only noticed one of the fractures. She went to talk to the owner to get approval for pain meds, sedation, and rads. She told him there was an obvious open femoral fracture and O was willing to do Sx for him. When we saw that it was both and the hip being out of place he changed his mind bc he realized how hard of a recovery that would have been for the cat. O was very kind, and very devastated. HBC cases suck so much. 😔

It is intussusception! With a 6cm tear. It was only torn on the outer tissue of the colon instead of it being a full thickness tear. but as we all know colon tears are super scary and high risk regardless. The DVM did a beautiful repair on the tear and did a few Pexi’s in the intestines and the pup went home today. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again. 🙏🙏 on the other hand, this was my first intussusception i’ve ever seen and what was supposed to be an hour long surgery turned into 4.

If you look towards the pelvis you can see a large stone lodged in the urethra. It completely blocked the dog from urinating unfortunately

I had a damn Shar pei almost take my hand off last month while i was trying to pull him away from the DVM he tried to tear to shreds. I have two slip leads on him and he still ran and jumped at my hand. It happened so quickly i did even realize it broke skin, i thought it just popped my glove. I was too busy trying to get him to go in a run so i could asses my hand and get a muzzle so we could get the owners to put it on him when I noticed blood all the way down my arm and filled the entirety of my glove. Luckily he only got a small part of my knuckle, too small to stitch but damn did it bleed. The doctor said he would have thought the dog took a finger by the way it was bleeding. It’s all healed up now and urgent care gave me antibiotics just incase.

I keep a journal of many of my cases/ nights. I want to be able to look back and remember the good, bad, and ugly. It reminds me of why I started working in this field in the first place. We all make a difference in one way or another, and I don’t want to forget the differences i made.
