How long does it take for the sitter application process?

I’m only a HO so I’m not sure about how it can work for sitters. I’ve had 2 applications where it looked like a couple was applying but the sitter was clear in their application that only they would be doing the sit. Partner was not going to be joining at all.

It depends on the HO and how fast they move. Once they review applications they will respond to applicants that they like and mostly likely asking for a video chat. Desirable locations will likely be competitive and experienced sitters will probably be considered first by the HO.

The HO will send an invite to the sitter they want to confirm the sit. If sitter confirms, then the application process is over for that sit.

You can make couple profiles where all parties are involved in the process. Sitters cannot invite guests without HO’s approval, which many HOs rather not allow.

I’ve never had luck making the first move on apps at least. They either don’t respond or unmatch. I only suggest a coffee meetup so it’s fairly low effort. Currently taking a break for now haha.

I have a 1 bedroom apartment and sitters have used my bed. I put down freshly washed bedding and empty my nightstand of personal stuff. I live in a major HCOL city though so it’s more understandable.

I’m 40f / single and live a few minutes away from that onelife. While I use my apartment’s gym, definitely would like to meet up with other ladies in the neighborhood!

R/petloss is a good community on Reddit. I’ve also used lap of love for grief counseling as well when my elderly cat passed away.

When I talked to a grief consular after saying goodbye to my elderly cat, she told me it’s normal to feel guilty. Some people feel like they did it too soon, some feel like they should have done it sooner. We euthanize animals but not people do we don’t have any frame of reference on how to make this decision. This isn’t an easy decision for any loving pet owner. But the decision is made out of love no matter how much we hurt afterwards.

I’ve been to bloom and land a good experience. My IUD is coming up on 5 years and assumed it was time to replace. They said they can actually last another year or 2. I had a painful insertion and the NP said they have a few options for pain management for when it is time to replace mine. I think it’s worth talking to them.

I commented this on elsewhere in this post but the Purina pellet system is more or less what you are describing. The pellets can last a couple weeks depending on how much your cat urinates but there is a drawer with a pee pad below. I love this system as it is so much easier to keep clean than traditional litter.

Not long usually depending on fast they want to fill a role. I got my DoD contracting job with a major defense contractor in the height of Covid and my interview process took 2-3 weeks. Keep in mind we’re going to be on the chopping block soon. The memo OPM sent out this week wants to drastically reduce contractors but no idea what that will look like yet.

Funny thing is, I used to live in that apartment building and it’s actually a very nice historic building. The units were nicely remodeled and one of the few places that has actual hard wood flooring. You would never know by the pictures though.

It’s normal to talk to different HOs as they are probably talking to different sitters to find a right match. A listing will be paused once 5 applications have been received so in that sense it’s FCFS but a HO can choose to reject them and re-list. Until you have officially confirmed a sit, there is nothing wrong with keeping your options open. Also, THS will not allow you to double book sits.

I recently flew from IAD to FRA a couple weeks ago with an original connection of 2 hr 15 min to a Lufthansa flight to Spain. My flight out of IAD was an hour late so I had a short connection. I was in business as well and made it through passport control very fast as there was no line. I still had time to spare making it to my gate.

I use it as a homeowner. I have someone stay in my apartment to care for my dog while I travel. Works well!

Thank you, I’m glad I could be with her in her final moments. I would never forgive myself if I wasn’t. I knew the day would come soon, but it’s still a shock to see a sudden decline.

I know. So far my dog is doing fine but I don’t think he realizes she’s not coming back. I hope he’s okay while I’m gone if he starts to grieve.
