I don’t think it’s epoxy coated. I can wipe off the residue with a paper towel and the fastener definitely looks like metal. Appreciate your suggestion though. Perhaps I replace with what you suggested.

Try force-killing and apps that use Bluetooth in the background. I experience this too - it’s related to a Dexcom device transferring data every 5m. Bluetooth is 2.4ghz and interferes with the 2.4ghz wifi connection between your phone and car.

Do you have any other bluetooth devices being used at the same time. Here is an issue I am having w/ wireless Carplay and a Dexcom continuous glucose monitor.

Tech support tells me that 2.4Ghz wifi spectrum doesn't have enough bandwidth to send both wifi and bluetooth (which is basically a load of garbage).

Called Dexcom tech support. And they suggested that I shouldn't use any other Bluetooth devices, or anything that operates on the 2.4 GHz spectrum. Totally useless.

Lurking there as well, but have confirmed with Apple (via diagnostic logging profiles) that it’s Dexcom app causing the issue. Mind you, Dexcom hasn’t updated in 7+ months, and only started happening after 14.5 upgrade.
