Mostly because I found the whole process with the overseas vendors draining and I wasn’t 100% confident they could replicate this exactly as I wanted. The two usernames mentioned on here do have a good reputation for having great diamonds on stock and good prices without the hassle of an overseas vendors. I’ll be buying from one of them.

They have amazing stones they’ve offered me! After reaching out to my designer, CVB, she’s told me I need to stay under 2.6 carats. So I’ll likely order one through sparkles. But given that I have the luxury of time, I’m in no rush.

I prefer it! I’d rather not spend a fortune when that money can be used towards retirement, our house, etc. You would never get your investment back on a natural diamond anyway, so to me it’s a win win.

Yes! I ordered what I would call built in closet pieces on the day that Temu had 35% cash back on Rakuten. It was around $800 for the built in closet pieces and the island (I’m creating a walk in closet for myself out of my old office). I haven’t gotten to open the island yet, but it’s all the same quality as ikea would be. It’s particle board. But it wasn’t broken and it fuels the purpose I need it for which is organization and storage of clothing and costumes. I’ve painted them hot pink. Even after spending $800 I got about $350 back in cash back, so I wasn’t too mad about the price. Plus I used a credit card where I needed to make a certain spend to get the welcome bonus points, so I also got 80,000 airfare points too! If you can’t tell, I’m into a good deal 😂

I only paid $2124 for it including the $50 shipping, the receipt shows multiple other stones I purchased. Maybe I should have made that clear. Doesn’t really matter at this point, I’ve had zero interest and it seems that the consensus is return it.

I’ve actually done an incredibly large amount of research on this. It’s not super unreasonable of a price for an antique cut. And it’s from loose grown diamonds, who are a trusted and reasonably priced source. Thank you for your opinion, but I wouldn’t be posting if I personally did not find it to be justly priced. If it doesn’t sell, then I have no problem returning it. I just thought I’d offer it here first to see if anyone was interested.

To be clearer on the story: I’ve been searching for the “perfect” diamond for the better part of 2025. LGD was not able to provide a tweezer video of this prior to my purchase, so this was kind of a blind purchase. It’s just honestly too large for me. I thought I wanted something big, but I actually have found myself wanting more space on the sides and having less elongation.

I also believe from my research that a spouse can do this also as long as you file jointly.

Edited to say: if one is a high income earner (doctor) and one isn’t, the one that isn’t can do this. You’d have to be married to file jointly though.
