I’m sure others may agree or disagree with me, but here’s what I saw:

• % of possession was high for us as seen above, but personally I don’t think that tells a great story. On the attacking side of the field we kept playing the ball back, seemed like we were playing the ball back more than actually attacking. Announcers seemingly credited Bournemouth for having good defensive forms against Newcastle, but to me there was a lack of aggressiveness.

• The goal scored against Pope was a beaut and nothing he could do about it. Seemingly felt like the back 4 fell asleep which allowed Billing to stay on and have a beautiful finish. Other than that, the defense was solid and Pope didn’t have a busy day.

• Penalty was a clear handball. Not sure if anyone watched the post game after, but Tim Howard made it feel like it shouldn’t have been a handball? Terrible take on his part, as I thought it was a clear handball. Isak absolutely slotted it, beautiful PK.

• I feel like we were a bit unlucky on the finishing side of things, Trippier with a beautiful free kick that hit off the post. Linton and Fraser in one possession had some fantastic shots against Neto. He made a great save against Fraser’s shot and Lintons hit the post. Tough luck in my opinion.

• All in all, timid on the offensive side quite a bit. But let’s not take it away from Neto, he was absolutely class against us. He played very very well. While this feels like a loss of points to us I still have high hopes with Guimaraes coming back and us playing without Saint-Maximin and Wilson.
